I'm fifteen, but I started getting into the classics when I was twelve. So far my favorite actresses are Katharine Hepburn, Julie Andrews, Marilyn Monroe, Bette Davis, and Greta Garbo.
I recently saw Myrna Loy in a few movies, and I think I might end up becoming a big fan.

Youre fifteen and you have a Dorothy Parker quote at the end of your responses? Thats impressive!!! As far as your list of actresses, Monroe was beautiful but not that great of an actress. Some movies to look at, the Thin Man collection, pretty much anything with Barbara Stanwyck in it as well as Jean Harlow, and Carole Lombard as well
Its better to be looked over than overlooked. -

Thanks, I like Dorothy Parker too.

Yes, I agree that Marilyn Monroe really wasn't known for her acting abilities. She made a few films that showed off her talent, but most of her roles were just bimbo stuff.

I have never seen any of the Thin Man movies, but I will! I just don't know much about the serieshow many of them there are, and if they're really all that good.
Barbara Stanwyck has been on my list of actresses to investigate for quite some time now. I guess I will have more time for movies during the summer. I've seen a few Jean Harlow films

Dinner at Eight
. . .uhh I think that's it. She and Carole Lombard are on my list too.
But thanks for the suggestions, and sorry it took me so long to respond.

I'm 27,and I've been a fan of hers since I was a kid.I grew up watching classic movies along with contemporary ones, since my Mom is a big movie buff as well.Anyways,I love her in the Thin Man series, though my favorite movie starring her is "Mr.Blandings Builds his dream House".Like I everyone,I think she's one of the most beautiful, charismatic and effortless actresses of the era.

I've been watching old movies for a long time (I'm 28 now). She was never one of my favorites until recently. I watched The Thin Man and although the movie is good (not great), I loved her style. Then I realized that she is very different compared to other actresses of the time. I haven't watched all of her movies, but she always played her roles like a real person. And she could be a smart ass, which I love. Now that I know more about her personal life, I like her even more.
