I loved Cathy ever since she was in "Raging Bull", and it seems a darn shame that she is not recognized as much as she should be, unless she doesn't want to act as much as other actors. I really do not know, but one thing is for sure, Cathy is awesome!

She should be doing the part in the screenplay I wrote.
The neighborhood tough lady who was the mom of the town's tough kids, was the only person who bothered to teach me about self esteem.
I wrote a film about her and if there is one actress who could play her, its her. She had a mouth like a sailor and we had some crazy times (I wrote about them, especially the time we went to the cemetery at 3 AM and saw a ghost), and hid pot plants from the cops. Damn, those were good times.
Its a really great role and everyone loves the character. I'm thinking of pitching it to someone I've applied for a producer's assistant job with.
he likes films like that, and he's got money. He was featured in "Top Indie Producer's" article, when they talked about indie producers in smaller towns like Baltimore, etc. -

Hi Maria Teresa!
I like your idea for the script, I hope you can get it produced!
Don't tell me, you're from Brooklyn, right?
I did not know that Cathy was only 21 when she did 'Neighbors' - but she was SO hot in that role, she was unforgetable! Very, New York, very sultry. She had a maturity about her above & beyond being a 20 year old, doing Raging Bull and dealing with some of the best people in the biz at that age!
As for Keitel, who'd also be good in your movie (if you ever make it), he was so good in Taxi Driver, Fingers & Bad Lieutenant!
Good luck to you!

Hi,
Can anyone give me the e-mail address, home address or phonenumber of Cathy Moriarty?
I think I talk to her one day in Houston at the Lone star flight museum. I think it was in 1999. She was sitting in a wheelchair and we talk a little.
Now I want to get in contact with her.

She lives rather quietly now on eastern long island. She has triplets so I guess she spends alot of her time with them. She came in to my job today. Me and a couple of co-workers talked to her for a while about her movies and such. She was extremely personable and witty. She's definitely a class act. She signed a Raging Bull DVD for me. She was going to buy Raging Bull from our store. she said, "Hey, I should buy that. It's cheap." I told her not to buy it because they had it next store at Best Buy cheaper. So she bought it next store. It was a pretty enjoyable experience. She actually comes into my work often.

Cathy has three children, but not triplets. She has twins and another daughter. She's married to my mother's cousin - Joe Gentile. Last summer, I attended a party at one of their homes in Southampton, and let me say this, they are about as genuine and "real" as you can get. Cathy was a wonderful hostess. She was sweet, down-to-earth, funny, and just a wonderful person. There's not a drop of Hollywood ego in her. Her husband Joe is just as wonderful. As I said, Joe is my mother's cousin which of course means I am related to him as well, but this party was our first opportunity to meet. Meeting Cathy and their children was a just a bonus. I asked Joe's father why haven't we seen Cathy acting much lately and he said she's just focusing on the children right now (they're young - all under 10). She doesn't want to do stuff in LA, so she's limited to acting in NY or Toronto. As a big movie buff, I was a huge fan of Cathy's work, but now having met her, I'm an even bigger fan.

OK, this is weird. My husband and I were shopping at Target last week (we live on the south shore of Long Island, we were shopping in Riverhead, though, which is in the east.) and this lady, with three young girls, came up to us and asked us if we saw the movie "Legally Blonde" anywhere. We all went looking for it, with no luck. During our search, to one of her daughters, she pointed to a movie and said, "Mommy was in that movie!" She pointed to Kindergarten Cop.
My husband said he loved that movie. She told him her name and said she was in it. My husband and I are young (early 20's), so it wouldn't be easy for us to really recognize her. Hell, I hadn't even heard of Kindergarten Cop before. I forgot what she said her name was so I looked up the cast, and I found her. I watched a clip of her on YouTube. Same voice and everything! Her daughters are adorable. I didn't think she'd be as big as she was. Wish we got her autograph! -
