Shame. Ripoff. Granted, I'm not even a casual observer of L&O, but it didn't take a fan to see that he was ultimately the heart and soul of the show and its most talented actor. Especially upsetting when Sam Waterston got some more recognitionb68 (or maybe he was just better or had the more complex job, I don't know).

I agree. Jerry was such a talented actor, and I still love him. He should have gotten more praise, and I completely agree about him being the best thing about Law and Order. Law and Order is a perfect show, even without Jerry, but Jerry's presence elevated it to an even greater level.
