I'm watching "White Line Fever" right nowPretty lame movie, but Slim is great in this. He has THEE best speaking voice..The way he says "beep" and "Goddamned" is an art form.

Slim could order a burger and fries at the drive-thru and it would be funny. His performances in "Blazing Saddles" and "Dr. Strangelove" were absolute genius. No other actor would've been as good as he was. Should've been more celebrated while he was alive

Agreed Slim Pickens was such a wonderful "character actor".
I don't know if today's movie/TV audience feel (as I do) that they seem to be cheated by the lack of wonderful "Character actors" (outside of "A-list" luminaries such as Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken as villainous psychos) for TV-series and B-movies. In years past, studios could crank out character actors such as Walter Brennan; and in the 1970s-1980s for TV series and B-movie budgets there was Richard Lynch available as the creepy villain and James Olson/Anthony Zerbe as the psycho.

Slim was a master of timing, and I love how he had such a thick accent. (I am from the south, and it is refreshing to hear a real accent on film!) Slim was the man!
I am beginning to doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion!

I'm a huge Slim Pickens fan as well. He was a simply terrific and wonderfully entertaining character actor with an amazing scratchy voice and charming screen presence. Among my favorite movies with good ol' Slim in 'em are "Dr. Strangelove," "Blazing Saddles," "Rancho Deluxe" (perhaps his best-ever performance as a cranky, aged, but shrewd cattle detective), "White Line Fever," "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid," "The Shadow of Chikara," "1941," and "The Howling."
"Warren Oates died for our sins"
