While I'd rather celebrate his life and the joy and generosity of the man, tonight will be the 50th anniversary of his passing. I sincerely hope that he's at peace. Bless you George and thanks for you having been you.
PS It's not how you die that matters, it's how you lived.

Nice sentiment, whosit. I thought there would be more posts on this subject, but yours is the only one. And, yes, let's remember George in life.

I too am surprised and somewhat saddened that there haven't been more comments. While this surely sounds somewhat nutty, I drove by his home after midnight just to pay my respects and there was no one else that I noticed doing the same. All the lights were out in the house and the homeowner's car was parked out in the street instead of in the driveway which I thought strange.

I do not find it nutty, whosit, I find it a sweet and touching tribute to the wonderful performers who touch our lives. Bless you.

54 years later and he's still dead, in body but not in spirit. R.I.P. George, hope we can meet some day.
