Hi Salo Marc,
All the best to you as you continue to heal. I note from your history that you are busy writing school papers on 'Persona,' 'Into the Wild,' John Ford' and others. These tasks must be a comfort to you. We, Gingerologist, frequently check into this board and I hope someone who met Ginger and Fred in person will visit this board and respond.

I never met either of them, but I hope someone who did meet them sees your post here and replies. What a wonderful story, and thank you for sharing it. I believe that Ginger - and Fred, too - would have been happy to know that their movies continue to make such an impact.

wowa heavy story with a great ending Life is great, even when it's not so great one cannot fathom the experiences, trials, traumas, and tragedies an individual endures, but keep faith that there IS a Higher Power watching over us all even when it doesn't seem that way
as for Ginger and Fred, I think we Gingerologists are VERY aware of your feelings regarding how they affect one's persona SO much for the better. Keep in mind that in the 'general sense', G&F were so popular in a time when things were quite rotten (Great Depression, or the hangover from it, at least), so their joyous syncopation was an exhilarating escape for those folks who got to view the premiere of these classic films and they STILL affect folks in a MOST beguiling way!!!
And it DOES make you feel better!
Praying for you and yours, my friend and fellow Gingerologist!
Keep It Gingery!!! (KIG!)
Sincerely,
VKMfanHuey

and BTW, my mom lives next door to a lady who met Ginger back in the early 70's when she was promoting her clothing line at J.C. Penney I talked to her once about it, but really not much info, other than the lady said Ginger seemed real nice sigh

Thank you for your support. To be honest I was afraid to tell my story cause I thought you guys would judge me.
I should have mentioned before that my dad was born in 1934 and he watched their movies shortly after they were released. Now that I think about it,he tried to introduse me to their movies but I wasn't into musicals back then. Silly me.
Sorry any mistakes, english isn't my first language. -

Very touching story
because G Rogers
and F Astaire
have been very professional
throughout their careers
separate and together
together and separate
and at points in between
Never met em
but that would have been great
because G Rogers
and F Astaire
would have been great to meat
on screen or off screen
Even G Rogers
and F Astaire
have said that fans mistake em
for being a couple off screen
but they clarified that
by marrying a bunch of others
Where were we
oh back to G Rogers
a real
all around
entertainer
even when she was not
entertaining
but when she was
entertaining
then G Rogers is unbeatable
she could sing
she could dance
she could do comedy
she could do drama
she could even do interviews
Nobody could do all that
except for G Rogers
and maybe F Astaire
P Goddard
V Mayo
J Garland
Gn Kely or
Gn whatshisname Nelson
Okay so G Rogers interviews
are a little mean sometimes
mean to the ladies
mean to the men
and even mean to her exes
but that's Hwood for ya
where even L Ball was affected
by breaking ups and downs
How great to hear
that G Rogers
F Astaire
and probably L Ball
who appears in T Hat
have saved another life
and then there's Church
to keep up the good work
