What were the reasons as to why Barr wrote off West in Roseanne?

I have wondered the same thing. I loved Crystal. I saw an interview with her once many years later and her work on Roseanne was brought up and just from her vibe I got the impression there was some sadness, maybe resentment, so I'm thinking it wasn't her choice to leave. Maybe you knew that.
