The Academy should atone for its failure to award Gena the Oscar for her landmark performance in A Woman Under The Influence - one of the greatest performances on screen. Her work with Cassavetes (Gloria, Faces, Opening Night) has helped redefine Independent cinema and took naturalistic acting to new heights.
And thats not even mentioning her performances in Woody Allen's Another Woman or the classic Lonely are the Brave. She is stands at the front amongst the greats and should have long been awarded an Oscar. Get it right while you still can Academy! -

I was thinking of using the exact same words! Damn Straight!! GLORIA
I saw Gloria about 10 or 15 years ago. It made such an impression on me that I
would say, "Bolt it" (the door) to my own childrenand (in fun) I would say,
"don't you need a showeryou must stink by now".
lines from GLORIA. If/when a movie and star can do that to someone..OSCAR worthy of course! -

Congrats, Gena!
She's been my dream recipient for a few years now and it was always sad to be see her discarded in favour of less deserving people. Can't really think of any actress from the English-speaking world who was more due.
