he always seems to be playing villains. even in natural born killers, he was a cop but was worse than the psychos he was chasing. i was watching a stallone movie the other day lock up where he popped up and
sure enough played a two faced bastard.
.
probably saving private ryan. but are they any roles where he was pretty much a lead/supporting character who was a good guy? -

Colonel McKnight in Black Hawk Down would probably qualify as a good guy.
Its only a probably because what he has to put his men through during the course of the film, but he really has no choice and clearly is affected by it. -

He played a criminal in Heat. Not sure that qualifies for being a good guy.

Thats the thing I love about heat, he has the whole normal family guy thing going on, and of course the gang are set up so you compare them with Waingro, so you start to root for them.
Then when he is trying to escape, he picks the kid up to use as a shield and you rememberOh right; bad guy.
