Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Rod Taylor

Heaven has claimed another great star for it's production team. I remember as a kid in 1960 sitting in a movie house watching The Time Machine and being thrilled. This is my favorite Rod Taylor movie. I watch it every chance I get. So my question to those who have seem this great movie. "What three books would you have taken to the future if you had been the time traveler?"

The question went unanswered at the end of the movie. However, since he returned in order to rebuild human society, my guess for the three books (since the libraries had decayed) are:

      1. one for science/math
      2. one for self governance
      3. one for humanities/art
I would have to think about which specific book from these categories.

The Bible, The works of Shakespeare, Plato's Republic.
My 1st thought on hearing of his passing was what Stanton said of Lincoln," And now he belongs to the ages."
