Farewell to a proper legend, one of the most leading quality leading men there ever was, who played a very big part in making The Birds what it was. His contributions to things as diverse as 101 Dalmations, and Zabriskie Point displayed his passion for diversity in his work, and his final on screen appearance in Inglourious Basterds was a beautifully perfect little swansong.

Why did you feel the need to start an RIP thread when you could have just contributed to one that already existed?

He may been retired, but his passing generates another loss to the film industry as we enter the new year. Luckily, his macho presence and charisma is preserved in the classic films he made. Rest in peace, Rod, and my highest condolences to your family and friends in their time of grief.
