I just saw him today in a store I work at in Lexington, KY. I'm told he shops there quite regularly but this was the first time I had seen him. He was shopping with his son. His hair is pretty long as princessjp was saying and he is pretty short. This site lists him at 5'9" and I think that might be a little generous. Seemed like a nice guy though and a good dad.

he came to northern kentucky university today for an acting class I'm in because the head chair of the acting dept. went to acting college with him. He was very friendly and loved that so many people enjoy his work in movies. His hair was long, he had a beard and mustache and mentioned that next week he was going to be filming a prequel to "lonsome dove."
All in all, cool dude.
ps. I would have to say that steve was 5'9. Big head, smaller frame body. -

I know this discussion was last week, but I have to chip in and say I saw him at Ozzfest in Charlotte, North Carolina last year in September (the rock festival). I was like two rows back from the stage and all of the sudden here he comes walking right in front of me. Hair was long but tied in a ponytail with a bandana around his head. Wearing white T-shirt, jeans and flip-flops. When he w5b4alked past, he kept scanning the crowd real quick and then he jumped up onstage and went backstage. I was so shocked, I just stood there like an idiot and didn't say anything. If it wasn't him, he has a twin he needs to contact and get to know.
I love his movies. He is the coolest funnyman out there. My favorite thus far has been Sahara. I hope him and Matthew do another one. They are perfect together.
P.S. 5'9" IS a generous estimate. I'm 5'4 and he can't be but a few inches taller than me.
Cheers.

My sighting occured while I was in high school. I am also a Cooper graduate (2002), and he came in one year to speak directly to the drama class. Although I wasn't in the drama group, I knew the teacher pretty well and he let me slip in. I was only able to stay for a short while, but from what I gathered, Steve seemed like a great guy and is very passionate about what he does, which is refreshing to see given his level of fame. Unfortunately, pictures were not allowed.

Just because you meet a person once, doesn't mean they are who they appear to be.
But it's no reason to believe otherwise, either.
The poster who went to high school with him knew him 25 years ago. Can anyone in his or her 40s honestly say he or she is exactly the same person today as he or she was in high school?
Honour thy parents. They were hip to the groove too once you know. -

Steve lives in the same city I live in, he lives near Lexington, KY. I went to see a friend of mine who works in a store and while I was there Steve came in to get a few things. At first you wouldnt know it was him, because he looked like a normal guy, regular clothes, cowboy boots etc He has a farm near Lexington, which is where his wife is from. He was nice I only said a couple things to him but it was cool to see a hollywood star in my city lol.

Steve Zahn and his family were in Gettysburg PA last week.I recognized him right away and pointed him out to my wife. They stayed in the same hotel as us but i never had a chance to say hi. The last night we were there i looked out our room and on to Baltimore St and saw him and the family taking the walking Ghost Tour

It's been a few years ago, but I saw him at the Cincinnati airport. He was standing near the bathroom with his kids waiting for his wife. I was waiting for my husband and I kept staring at him, thinking he was someone I knew. I grew up in the area, but moved away right out of high school. He looked so familiar to me, I thought I must have known him from way back. Then it suddenly dawned on me who he was. It was also right at that moment he noticed I was staring. I was so embarassed, I said something stupid like "Sorry, I thought I knew you from somewhere" He was very nice for the couple minutes I talked to him. Then my husband almost ran over him coming out of the men's room.

Saw Steven and family on a Tampa to Atlanta flight. It appeared that I was about the only one recognizing him, he's had such a changing look in his work that it's not surprising that he can go unrecognized. Very nice looking guy, hair was almost to shoulders and looked nice. Seemed to really dote on his family and be low key. I just said HI and that was all. I think I read it somewhere that he's spent time in Florida, or something. Just seemed like a regular guy, but he is a very talented guy, too.!~

I just saw him last night on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Everyone was celebrating the Saints win over the Vikings. I saw him wearing a Vikings shirt. I just came here and saw that he's from Minne5b4sota. I guess that explains why he didn't look very happy. There was a mob of people, but I noticed him because he looked familiar. It took me forever to figure out who he was.

he is working on a show in Chicago right now.. he seems like such a cool and nice person..very down to earth.I never talked with him but was at work and saw him a few days in a row..never would have guesed he was "famous". HE is the reason the show he is doing is filming in Chicago. the word is it is closest city to shoot in from where the farm he owns is..if I ever do meet him .I will thank him for bringing the work to Chicago..I know a lot of friends who were able to get a job and some work because of him..Class act all the way from what I saw.
