In THE COLLECTOR she very much resembles her contemporary Katharine Ross. I must admit that, in watching it again last night, there were several moments when I did, indeed, think of Nicole Kidman as well.
Excellent work from both leads, and superb direction. Terence Stamp was utterly amazingthere's Norman Bates and Hannibal Lecter and, somewhere between the two, Freddie. Stamp did have a Botticelli faceI kept thinking that the Eggar character was going to mention it and ask to do a drawing of him. Might have made for an interesting juxtaposition of the power struggle, to have him sit for her and have her be in charge.

I think she resembles a VERY young Katherine Hepburn. The high cheekbones, the red hair, tall, thin body. Anyone else see the similarities? I'm thinking of Katherine Hepburn in Alice Adams, a movie made in the mid-thirties.
