    The way I see it, Richard Harris had very little if any eccentricity or twinkling-ness in his portrayal of Albus Dumbledore either.

      I think Gambon is great. Harris had the Santa Claus factor but no twinkle..

        harris was way more mystical. he seemed all-knowing and wise.
        gambons felt like a douchey knowitall.

          Both Harris and Gambon have a great body of work before their involvement with Harry Potter. Those bitching about the role have no clue or appreciation of EITHER actor.
