C'mon, who's out there after seeing new Harry Potter movie & thinking that he'd be perfect for the Doctor?

I somewhat agree with your observation Michael could be perfect as the Doctor but however my choice definitely would have to be Marc Warren he's someone who I have always loved and admired including his wonderful performance In Oliver Twist the Mini Series made back in 1999 portraying the troubled son Edward who's always held in total disdain and shown no real love from both his mother and father which always made me feel very sorry for him no one deserves to be treated with such hatred and coldness anyway I personally believe that Marc would really excel brilliantly in the role of Doctor Who he's such a fabulous actor who can portray many different characters in either movies or television dramas and in my own honest opinion David Tennant has never really impressed me that much with his rather shallow performance I say get rid of David and replace him with a far more superior actor Like Marc Warren who could be just exceptional.

You have got to be kidding! He was featured in one of the worst DW episodes.

Don't you think that a 70 year old is a little old to be playing Doctor Who? This isn't the 60's anymoreIMO, keeping the doctor in the 30's to 50's range makes more sense

Noh noh; beep that; The doctor is 900+ years old. Grumpy, grouchy, mean and egotistical. Ecclestone brought some of that back into the frey; but Tennant and now "emo-kid" Smith? I agree with OP, Gambon or atleast someone older than tennant was, or smith EVER will be!

Rather too old for a demanding role with an almost 9 month shooting schedule.
              Its that man again!!
