She had plenty of recognition(hence the interesting projects) but, she was certainly a wonderful actor. NOBODY could do the Witch like she did. Not then, not now.

An absolutely spectacular actor. The Wizard of Oz alone makes her legendary.
She actually invented a template from which16d0 all subsequent witch performances were gleaned.
