Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Larry Fine

    psychoren2002 — 19 years ago(July 27, 2006 03:03 PM)

Long time ago I read a comment on the stooges by a french writer (I dont remember his name) who points something really clever: the meaning of the stooges, one by one, is simple: they're represent the 3 stages in every man's life. Moe is the adult, the one who make the rules, and Curly clearly is the child, the funny/silly/innocent boy, as any kid is. But in the middle, Larry is the teenager, caught in between two very different points of view, and hes confussed. It was the most difficult role to play, and for me, Mr. Fine did a terrific job. Hes my all time favorite stooge!!

Yes it does makes sense and I am pretty sure all 6 of the Stooges are performing up in heaven doing their famous acts. How in the world would they do that though is my question? I see the point of what that person said and it was great analogy of each stooge! Thanks!

Larry was always my favorite stooge.
I think he was the most rational and intelligent of the trio. Often times he was the voice of reason in all the chaos. He was a happy medium between Moe's harshness and Curly's stupidity.
In a strange kind of way if you wanted to look at the 3 Stooges as a FAMILY. Moe kinda represents the father who's kinda grouchy, Larry represents the mother who is rational and tries to keep peace, and Curly represents the kid who's dumb and annoying, LOL
                  Question your prejudices.
