    Romans 13:1-7
1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.
2Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.
3For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.
4For he is Gods minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is Gods minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.
5Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience sake.
6For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are Gods ministers attending continually to this very thing.
7Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.
Now, don't come at me for telling you what's in the Bible. Whether you personally believe it or not, that's where it's from.

  • This made me hate these people

He would have been a wonderful King. Far better than his brother, who could barely talk. And since he had no issue, nothing really would have changed. Elizabeth still would have become Queen. The only difference is she and Phillip would have had the time to enjoy their youth and she would have had more time to prepare for her job.

Princess Margaret was very beautiful, far more attractive than the actress portraying her.

  • Was the real Princess Margaret as attractive as this actress?

The opening titles and music, brought me to a screeching halt as I was washing dishes. I had to replay it over and over. Yes, I'm recording!
I was expecting the wedding to be breathtaking..not so much but not much time was spent on it. The caroling scene caught me completely off guardastounding!
Like so many here, the buildup, especially the music, to the funereal scene between a grandmother and granddaughter was unbelievable. I'm telling you, I gasped out loud in those final seconds of that ep.
The coronation was spellbinding for this non-Brit. I had no idea that the connection between God and the monarch were so strong, traditionally speaking. It was "magical", as explained by Edward. I made hubs watch it with me, as he hates all British themed movies. (It's complicated!) He found the golden canopy scene equally fascination as I did.
And OH the Churchill scenes. What an actor!! The Queen's come to Jesus moment with him, had me near tears. Poor guy! I think she came into her own as Queen in this scene!?
So so many favs! Can you tell I love this series??!!!

Was the Duke of Windsor under the impression that he would still be involved with Royal events and social functions when he made his choice? Did he think he would still be welcomed into the inner circle and invited to the Royal residences for family gatherings?

  • so what's the real reason Margaret did not marry Peter Townsend?

Maybe they'll relent, but meanwhile, here's a suggestion I found here on another board:

Love JR, but I think CF has done a wonderful job and I don't think JR can be better than CF.
