what scars will the children that played in that movie have to go through their life with after filming this movie?
What children? I hope you're not talking about the baby who is WAY to young to remember any of that.
You gave up everything you had to find me. You found me broken. -

I loved it for the levels of sociopolitical commentary and dialectical discussion of the war on terror Aja provides. Take another look, and watch it with modern politics in mind. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised

What's entertaining about gore sludge?
What's not entertaining about it? You don't enjoy a good thrill ride of blood, guts and mayhem? Certain people like myself enjoy the perversity and depravity captured within films like these. If it's too much for you go enjoy a romantic comedy. -

SPOILERS TOWARDS THE END.
everybody that thinks that hills have eyes is going to scar the children that were in it is probably either retarded or really close to being retarded. there is no way in hell you could possibly think that. they basically worked with guys dressed in makeup. it was probably like halloween to them. and hills have eyes and high tension were so much better than hostel. HHE and HT were really chilling just based on how the films panned out. in HHE the kids' families were killed in front of them and they're stuck in the middle of the desert witha bunch of mutants after them. in HT the story was creative, thought-provoking and creepy all at the same time. those were the kind of movies that you watched when you want to show a bunch of friends a sweet horror flick. -

What baby scene are you talking about? Frankly, I've seen worse movies than this in the gore factor of things, and there was nothing that scarring about it. The actors know that it's not real, and the only one that wouldn't be able to understand that was the little girl who played Katherine. Who by the way, had her parents there the entire time, and was amazing to work with. If you watch the "Making of" on the DVD, it shows that the little baby didn't even understand what was going on.
Spoiler Alert
For instance, when Lizard pointed the gun at her, the little girl thought that it was a toy, and they had to constantly re16d0-shoot the scene to try and get her to not play with it. Furthermore, she was far too young to understand the blood and gore aspect, and she was probably removed from the set when she wasn't needed directly in the scene. Most of the blood and gore was CG anyway.
Also, while watching the same video, you'll see the the entire cast is laughing and joking while filming it. It's people like you who take it far too seriously that make it something horrible and gruesome. They know that it is pretend, and they signed on to do the film, knowing what they were getting in to. Everyone on that set, regardless of how morbid and depressing the story was, had an amazing, happy time.
