Most of these comments prove how exceedingly dull and commonplace the greater portion of society has deteriorated into. Robert Blake is, and always was, a man who beats to his own drum and I personally find him wonderfully eccentric, genuine, multi-dimensional and refreshing. He's a natural born rebel and Hollywood loner, and a terrific actor to boot, give him another shot!

Hey nothing wrong with that, but when you are broke, pushing 80 and angry at the world, just dont expect to get a lot of work for being the eccentric 'rebel' when you look like you will pull a knife on anyone who looks at you too funny!
I feel for the guy, I do, but he clearly has issues. I just hope things work out for him in some fashion.

I think his last shot is what got him arrested. 🙂

You have a point, Lost Also, you can tell the man is intelligent, not vapid and shallow like so many celebrities today one thing he is not is ordinary and he has not led an ordinary life

Wow! You gotta love the compassion in this thread.
Robert Blake has had a tough time, for sure, but early on I became very annoyed at Piers Morgan's constant interrupting, especially when he was talking about classic Hollywood. I wanted to hear that! I always hate it when Morgan does that, and it eventually pissed Blake off, and he was never able to get back on track.
I do think he'll get a movie because he's a great actor, and I think audiences will want to see that. The old saying, "there's no such thing as bad publicity.
It's not that I don't trust you, it's the devil in you that I don't trust.

Maybe but Robert Blake hasnt been in a film nearly 20 years. Even BEFORE the mess with his wife, he was scarcely working! I saw him in Money Train last night, which I actually saw in the theaters at the time and the guy seem to have basically played himself if you look at the Morgan interview.
I DO think hes a good actor, but I think his days been over a long time ago. Hopefully I'm wrong. America does like great come back stories. The problem is if most still think he killed his wife, his chances of working again are zero to nilch.

I've known tons of real people like him. He's an old time tough guy.
My bet is that if he was going to sell you a can and he told you it was in good shape, you'd believe him.

Kinda reminds me of Betty Hutton (with added expletives). Nobody's on my sideNobody caresEverybody ripped me off, etc. I'm just about interested enough to get his book, but, I have a feeling it's just more of the same.

of course its interesting. its the main crisis of act 3. how is no one picking up on this? for 5b4movie fans, robert blake's existential crisis sure isn't getting the true movie fan response.

Like I've said, he reminds me of a lot of people where I grew up. I'm 45 and his whole demeanor is like that of my parents and grandparents. I have to laugh at the names and phrases he uses when annoyed.
Anyway, these people were almost always honest but with some elements of having their own code of honor. They aren't middle class bourgeois Americans who never had a rough day and were never tempted to steal and so on.
I don't think Blake is much of a liar and you could see it in the interview. He was like, "Buy my book because I want to make a movie" and there was no pretension. About the "I've been screwed" attitude, the guy is almost 80 and life hasn't gone according to plan.
I've been a fan of his since I was a kid and followed the death of his wife closely. It looked that she and several other women in Hollywood targeted older stars, pretend to be in love, have a baby, and then use the kid as emotional blackmail to extort cash from the star. That's like marrying some kind of demon and alone would be enough to make you lose confidence in humanity and perhaps blot out your past success.
I found him be genuine and appropriately emotional.

I didn't realize until now, the book is self published. Even OJ. Simpson had publishers who issued his first book and would have published the other-in fact, I think they did. Surely Hollywood isn't worried about Blake's being in ''bad taste''.Show Business has exploited it's own misery and scandals for years. So, I wonder what the story behind THIS really is.

Either a) he killed his wife and is as insane as everyone says or b) He didn't kill his wife, yet still had to spend time in jail and had to file bankruptcy and.. oh yeah.. HIS WIFE'S DEAD.
Either a or b = a really really pissed off annoyed 80-year-old person in life. That's how things work.

                                  Shuji Terayama forever.
