And I have to disagree. Jolene's T'Pol is just a wonderful character! Compare her character to any other in Enterprise: even Trip that is a good character with lot's of screen time and played by a very good actor, doesn't come close in character depth, J. Archer remaining totally superficial and uninteresting. What comes to characters across all the Star Trek saga, with a plethora of characters, only a few get close to as well defined as T'Pol! The holo-doc and Seven of Nine of Voyager and maybe Data of Next Generation are the only ones I can think of with as complex, multi-dimensional characters. Trekkies would hang me high for saying this, but T'Pol leaves Spock in so deep shadow he disappears from sight.
Are you kidding me?! By "Trekkies" you mean "people who have actually watched TOS and know the first thing about Spock"? Please. Anyone who actualyl has a clue knows that characters like Data never came even close to being as complex and nmulti-dimensional and interesting as Spock. He leaves all the other attempts at interesting alien/half-alien/robot characters in Star Trek in a16d0 very deep shadow, and all the other Vulcan characters disappear from sight.

sorry to be so blunt sounding but talented actress??? i personally don't think so..
However I do conceed that it could just be to do with her choice in lousy scripts and characterisationher performance on Enterprise is incredibly limited due to her character being an emotionless shrew..but that notwithstanding, she was dreadful in the awful Jason & the Argonautsbut then so was everyone, same with Starship Troopers. I liked her character in Stargate but often wondered why it was not followed up on the show
Maybe if she didn't look so "hooooottttt" as people say, her acting might have been okbut let's face it I rather doubt she got into tv because she could act somehow

I can't believe people say T'Pol's character was emotionless! She was nothing like emotionless! Vulcans are supposed to be so, but the character was not! And neither were so many other Vulcans in Enterprise. You could read hate, amazement, sadness, anger, cunfusion, lust, pride, resentment and whatever from her
ALL THE TIME!
Did you people even watch her role in the show, or do you just think what a stereotypic Vulcan is like? It often amused me b68how un-stoic the Enterprise Vulcans were!

Roska-posti, Vulcans are like us Humans, but they control better emotions and since this I agree. That people want to say is character T'pol is a bit blank even if is different from stereotypic vulcan: f.o. she never smiled and so on

Giulene, I've seen all the Enterprise episodes and the Deep Space Nine episodes, most of the original series and the Next Generation episodes, and 4 last seasons of the Voyager. Plus unfortunately all the Start Trek movies. So I do think I have an idea what Vulcans are supposed to be. There might not be a scene where she (or any other vulcan smiles) smiles but she (and them) are far from being blank! Come to think of it, there seems to be just about every other facial expression except smile.

I disagree. Ive only seen her in Enterprise and SG1.
She was awfull in Enterprise, but it wasnt so noticable alongside the rest of the "actors". Star Trek generally suits terrible actors though so it wasnt such a bad role for her. It was the horrible acting that caught my eye in an episode of SG1 and I didnt recognise her at first.
So while in some things where the standard of acting is not so high, she can pull off a decent role, however, throw her in with a bunch of hardcore actors and her efforts are cringworthy.
All of her emotions are the same, over excentuated, and ridiculous. -

NO. I have NOT noticed. I find it extremely hard to take this girl seriously. If you deem this girl as a 'good actress' you have either never actually seen one, or you find women with teenage boys bodies with 2 grapefruits sown into their bodies attractive.
With her RIDICULOUSLY pumped up lips she looks like an UGLY duck/human hybrid.
She is the one single reason I could not watch Enterprise past the first episode. -

Lady_Hairy_Legs, you only saw one episode? I saw them all, and T'Pol's character got better and better all the time. I do admit I find her attractive, but it has very much to do with other things than just the looks. I didn't fall in love with her after seeing the first couple of episodes, and also didn't like the lip job. But she just played so wonderful character, with such emotion, I just grew on loving her.
Well, we all can't agree.

I just watched Starship Troopers 3 last night and I'm with you (and Brainsnack and therealguy13). This chick couldn't act to save her life. It's especially damming given that in ST3, she was playing an officer on a starship and of course her big break was playing T'Pol on "Enterprise", ie another starship officer. If she can't even do that believably, I don't know what she's even doing in this business.
As for her looks, I suppose she's hot to guys who've been sexually imprinted by porn stars. But if you came of age before the mainstreaming of porn, females like Blalock just look kind of weird. -

Jolene did an adequate job of approximating Vulcan behaviour. (That's as complementary as Vulcans ever get).
She did just fine in Enterprise. I haven't seen anything else she was in though. But I have seen Starship Troopers 2 and, to be fair, that film was so bad no acter could have made it look good, so I don't expect any better from that.

however playing a role like a Vulcan doesn't help a career, lucky in the episode Impulse she did a dramatic strong performance (that I thought for a moment she was another actress and I am not the only one) showing to be a good competent actress but I noticed these roles waste the career.
