"He's half-Italian, but as we know, Africa begins at Sicily."
Uhhhno. But we all know that what half of you is not black has hardly ever matter in the United States. There are innumerable black actors/entertainers who are considered black even though their mother's or father's ancestors came from Ireland, England, France, etc. Examples include, but aren't limited to, Halle Berry, Thandie Newton, the Hughes Brothers, Rick Fox, Shemar Moore, Lisa Bonet, Rain Pryor, Jasmine Guy and Craig David.
But hey, these thoughts would never cross your mind, right? Because our country is always smart enough to see the bi-racial aspects of every bi-racial person (like hey, Herman Edwards isn't a black head coach! His mother is a German woman his father met in World War II!). Get real, man.
And, btw, if you're going to be a wise guy by saying I don't know Italians aren't African, try making the northern most reach actually be in mainland Italy so you include all Italians (because, as we all know, not every Italian in this country calls Sicilia home). -

If you took the time to watch the trailer for this movie before posting about this, you'd realize that part of the plot of the film is the question of her race.
"First he thought she was a sister tryin' to be white. Then he started thinkin' it was the other way around"
The filmmakers had the right idea picking Jolene Blalock for this role. She's still relatively unk5b4nown, aside from drooling Star Trek fanboys, so they can take quite a bit of liberty in playing around with her race/color thereby keeping the audience guessing. The average movie-goer isn't going to do a bunch of research before seeing the film to see what nationality she really is. -

As a black women i don't care that this women is pretending to be black or whatever she is doing in this movie, I'm just tired of people suggesting Halle Berry to play every role that could be played by a mixed or african american actress. She is not that great of an actress she is just acceptable to what america wants to see black or mixed women look like. Ok enough is enough!

What movie is this? I didn't see anything on her filmography that indicated she's doing or have recently done a movie like that.

Just looked this up, her dad is a light skinned black man and her mom is white. Don't know how to post links, but it was under ethnicity on one of the posts on this board.
I've got no idea her ethnicity, but I've always thought she was at least part black. My dad says I'm nuts, but she seems so to me.

Hey Look at Wentworth Miller from Prison Break he's half black and half white and he has blue eyes. The only role he played a black person was the Human Stain and he was pretentding to be Jewish in that movie. then you have Quincy Jones daughter that was in the tv show the Office. So to me Jolene can be black somewhere or pull of being black but I believe she's had a lot of plastic surgeries.
If I was Rich, I'd be a couch potato -

In Slow Burn Nora Timmer(Jolene Blalock) is a wise guy who wants to pass off as a light black woman instead she's a white woman.
in a shot the FBI agent(JJ Cool) saw her in a hairdresser shop and comments: she has a curly hair but not on the root!
In the last shot she's driving away and looks a white blonde woman. -

..Spoiler Alert. The Nora Timmer, Jolene Blacklock's character in "Slow Burn", is supposed to be a white lady passing herself of as black for political and criminal reasons. You should watch the movie before jumping to conclusions.
I'm not Spartacus. The dude over there in the sandals who looks like Kirk Douglas is.
