I don't know Marc very well, but I was a senior in high school when he was a freshman, and ran into him at a wedding last year. He was very nice, and yes, intelligent. I asked him for an autograph for my niece, although it was a little embarassing, and he was very gracious about it. I'll be rooting for him to show all those Riley haters what Marc can do with a juicy role!

Well everyone is intitled to have an opinion, but I think it's pretty lame to start a topic just to put someone down. Especially since Marc seems to be such a nice and intelligent guy. He certainly doesn't deserve this. Maybe I could have accepted it, if you had started a thread on the "Actors/actresses" board, asking which actors people think are good or bad and had some good arguments to back your opinion up, but this is just stupid. And judging from your name and your resent posts, I assume you're a fan of Arnold and Keanu. And if my assumption is right, it gets even harder if not to say impossible for me to take your "worst actor ever" statement seriously, 'cause I wouldn't exactly put either of those two guys in the "brilliant actor category".

well i guess each to his/her own, and ur entitled 2 ur own opinion
but do u HAVE 2 bag riley?
Xander: Hey, Riley! What's the (imitates Riley's hand signal) all about?
Riley: It means yell real loud so the vampires who don't know we're coming will have a sporting chance.
Xander (to Willow): See now he's all mad and sarcastic. -

I never watched Buffy while it was running prime time. It wasn't until I saw Marc in First Daughter that I became interested in what else he had done. I became a fan of Buffy because of him. I loved the character of Rileyand later when I watched Buffy from season one, I loved the character of Angel, too. I really hated the way Riley's character was written off the show, but I think Joss Whedon knew what he was doing for the overall good of the show and continuing the storylines. Marc wanted to pursue other opportunities anywayand I think he's done quite well. I think he's great.

Marc Blucas is a great actor. Just because he ruined one show for you it was nothing. I liked him playing Riley during the fourth season. And remember, he's not the one that writes the script. Joss does and some other people. And he's good in other movies!
Buffy: You know me, not much with the damseling. -

Yeah I don't like him in Buffy. He was too Tall and some of the motions he made were awkward and strained. He seemed cold while acting like in "Out of my mind" and Sarah/Buffy is crying and telling him how much he means to her in that cavern and you could feel the emotion behind Sarah's acting and he was all Fridget and cold (Yes I know that he was suppose to feel a little detached and reserved). And another thing is his arms are so long, it bothered me when he moved. Honestly though I have nothing against him!

He isn't too bad. I just think that he wasn't a very good choice to play Buffy's boyfriend. There was no spark there. But I really don't think there was suppose to be. I just felt that Buffy was dating Riley because she was still hurting from Angel. I think she used him. I believe that she loved him but she wasn't in love with him. People might tell me I'm wrong but that is the way I feel.
But it was the character Riley that I hated and not the actor who played him.
It's a big rock. Can't wait to tell my friends. They don't have a rock this big.-

I have to say, though:
I worked with him on The Killing Floor and he is the absolute NICEST guy you would ever meet in Hollywood. There is absolutely no condescension from him whatsoever. A lot of actors I have worked with have this passive aggresive sense of entitlement, and he lacks that completely. Give it up for the nice guy. -

Not quite the worst actor ever.. But if it weren't for him/riley, Buffy might have gone down as one of the greatest shows to ever made. After all.. Blucas went on to star in hollywood gems like 'Summer Pitch' and 'First Daughter.' After 2000thos two wonderful installments how could anyone say he's the worst ever?

And for those of you who say that Dawn ruined the show. you are wrong seeing that season 5 was the best season of the show yielding most of the series' best episodes. A charcter that "ruined" the show cannot premier in its best season simple as that. -

dswinger; No, not as simple as that. S5 had the best storyline and most people have made up their mind that it is the best because Buffy died in that season, but all that still don't equal good. S2 was clearly the best, the only reason that isn't so clear is because s2 had a lot of crappy episodes, overshadowing the brilliance of s2. So you see, a character that ruined the show CAN be on a season that is at the same time hailed as the best season yet

Why does everyone hate Riley? I thought Buffy's relationship with Spike was way more messed up. Riley is really the only nice guy Buffy ever dated. And, while season 5 was excellent, they should have turned Dawn back into the key. Her constant screaching and whining was annoying.
