NOT his fault.

miller, that scenario does not describe the Whitney-Bobby relationship dynamic at allparticularly glaring in the use of the word "leading". From what we saw on that reality show, WHO was the overbearing one? Uh-huh.
To paraphrase another post I read on Whitney's board, she was the bigger star when they got together. There are numerous anecdotes out there that confirm she was the
Alpha
in that relationship. If you want a relationship where a woman was led astray by her husband, look up LaToya Jackson's marriage.
Look at the song they did together, "Something in Common". The difference was Whitney was much more talented, and cleaned up way better. But she was moving in too-fast circles even before her first album when she was modeling.
The fact that the marriage to BB didn't
help
her does not mean that
he
hurt her. As the OP indicates, her taking up with Bobby simply made public what was already obvious to everyone close to Whitney. They were both bulls in each others' china shops.

Eh - I'd still say he was the final straw.
It goes without saying that she was the bigger star. It also goes without saying that the traits and behaviors which grew to dominance as her life and career progressed didn't exactly turn her into Snow White.
I'm not saying he was a Svengali who kept her in thrall. Just that he's trash. And when you marry trash, it's going to knock you down several notches in your life, and it will disrupt your life's path by as much as 180 degrees.
Today's headlines show that he will be
allowed
to attend the funeral. He wasn't
invited
. I doubt that was an oversight, but rather a knowing move by, as you put it "everyone close to Whitney".
If Bobby Brown wasn't as close to the epicenter of the problem as possible without actually
being
the woman's addiction itself, he would've been at the top of the list of those invited to pay their respects.
Of course, if the man weren't as close to the epicenter of the problem without actually
being
the woman's addiction itself, we wouldn't be having this conversation, because, in all likelihood, if she hadn't spent 14 drug-feuled years of marriage with Bobby Brown (who at the
very least
enabled her), Whitney Houston wouldn't be dead at 48. -

Bobby didn't start doing narcotics until he met Whitney. she introduced them to him and made him an addict. Whitney has been doing drugs since she was in high school. But you can't really blame Whitney for everything. He made the choice to do the drugs

I believe it wasn't him, she was a top fashion model in the 80's during the height of cocaine distribution, there was no way she wasn't exposed to it before her music career started let alone meeting Bobby. Just look at Kate Moss, they tried to pin her drug use on that bad boy rocker she was dating but she probably always was a user to keep b68her waif thin figure.
