Why does he go by Louis instead of Louie?

He's played two characters named Louie, people call him Louie in real life, but his professional name is Louis. Why?

Because people would pronounce the Sprobably. And you're not supposed to pronounce it in Louis. Maybe it's a Mexican thing idk

I am going to explain something so simple, maybe even you can understand it. The pronunciation is French, not the person. Louis is a French name and it is pronounced by the French as LU EE.
With that, I do not plan to ever read another post by you.

Because Louis is his name.
I assume that he named the characters on his show Louie in order to differentiate his real self from the fictionalized versions of himself that he plays.
