I saw an episode of "Bonanza" with her as a white woman who had been kidnapped and raised as an Indian. She was left in the care of the Cartwrights and every time someone said anything to her, she'd yell at them "I spit on your grandmother's shadow!". I always fell out laughing when she yelled that!

"Shadow" is sometimes used as another word for "ghost". I would imagine saying something like that to someone would be the ultimate insult.

Yeah, I just saw this Bonanza episode on ME-TV today. It is from season 5 episode 22. It is titled "Love Me Not".
