Nicole passed away as a result of a double pneumonia complicated by asthma and sepsis. Normally it would take a older person far quicker than it did Nicole. She put up a fight, but the sepsis is a form of blood poisining that once takes hold is very difficult to combat.

Well see that is a totally different complicated then Pneumonia or even Asthma.
Sepsis (blood poison) will definetly killed you.
it recently killed the british actress Katrin Cartlidge she had the same thing Pneumonia with Sepsis any form of blood Poision will killed you if not caught early.
Septicaemia is really a hygenic disease, useally come from a badly pulled tooth that the gum doesn't heal right or isn't clean right or some sort of cut or blood blister or boiled that been pop & not clean right.
Pneumonia or any colds would come in eventually & will linger because the blood can't combat the disease because of the infection & eventually you die.
was she seeing a dentist & getting here teeth done like rooth canal or any other dentist surgery procedure of recently?? if so that may have been the source of the problem.
I have read somewhere a lot people die every year from dentist surgery infections if so,her family may have a good lawsuit.
in any case if caught in time she would of survived cause Septicaemia (the Blood) is like having Gang Green (The Flesh) left untreated it killed you quick & you suffer a lot.
Very very sad!!! I wonder if Ben Stiller,Robert DeNiro or Teri Polo came to her funeral??? I would of if i was any of the three actors listed above. -

Septecemia can result from bacterial pneumonia (and from other bacterial infections) if it is not treated promptly with antibiotics and the bacteria spreads to the blood. Usually it doesn't happen, but nevertheless she should've gotten better medical treatment than she did. I guess they just think this is more likely to happen to an older person. But I agreethey should be held liable for this. I loved Nicole in "Meet the Parents"I was cracking up when she broke her nose in the volleyball scene! I feel really bad for her family and friends.

Pneumonia kills hundreds of people every day, it is still on the top 10 list of non tramatic causes of death. I have seen people die of it ranging in age from a few days to their 80's+. Pneumonia can be a very subtle sickness and often not dianosed till it is got you good. Sometimes it is not even found to be a cause of death til after you are dead even if you have been to a docotor. It is a very dangerous and deadly disease, and is often very subtle

The real shame of it all is the fact that she was supposedly treated at two separate hospitals before arriving at the third, unconcious, where they could do very little for her.
That is the shame and what is really shocking about the whole damn thing. If just one of those doctors would have run a simple blood test, they would have been able to diagnosis her and maybe even saved her life!!!! Instead they just sent her home with instructions to take Tylenol?!

I cannot believe it, either. This is one of the saddest news on the IMDB in recent months. Life should just be beginning at 30, not ending. Rest in peace, Nicole.

How incredibly sad! I do remember the scene in Meet the Parents when ben stiller broke her nose and it was good comedy relief (as long as it's fake
My she rest in peace and I hope that the negligent drs are held accountable!!
