Pneumonia kills hundreds of people every day, it is still on the top 10 list of non tramatic causes of death. I have seen people die of it ranging in age from a few days to their 80's+. Pneumonia can be a very subtle sickness and often not dianosed till it is got you good. Sometimes it is not even found to be a cause of death til after you are dead even if you have been to a docotor. It is a very dangerous and deadly disease, and is often very subtle

The real shame of it all is the fact that she was supposedly treated at two separate hospitals before arriving at the third, unconcious, where they could do very little for her.
That is the shame and what is really shocking about the whole damn thing. If just one of those doctors would have run a simple blood test, they would have been able to diagnosis her and maybe even saved her life!!!! Instead they just sent her home with instructions to take Tylenol?!

I cannot believe it, either. This is one of the saddest news on the IMDB in recent months. Life should just be beginning at 30, not ending. Rest in peace, Nicole.

How incredibly sad! I do remember the scene in Meet the Parents when ben stiller broke her nose and it was good comedy relief (as long as it's fake
My she rest in peace and I hope that the negligent drs are held accountable!! -

That is so sad. When it's somebody my age (well, I'm almost 32), it really makes you think. I feel for her and her family because I've been in those situations. You go in for something serious and the Doctor tells you it's all16d0 in your head or take Ibuprofen. Not to turn this into a "me" thread, but just some examples: At 20 I kept going to the doctor complaining about my female problems and some other things having to do with that area. Many times I went. Kept getting a prescription for 800mg of Ibuprofen. Finally found a doctor who cared, he suspected Endometriosis, did a laporoscopy, found I did indeed have a severe case of Endometriosis. Another time, ever since I was little I had these bad heart palpations, it would beat so fast I'd see spots and feel like fainting. My mom took me to our PCP who just took my heartbeat with the stethoscope (of course it's normal when I'm not having an attack) and told her it was all in my head. When I got to be an adult, I went to a Cardiologist who was great. He put me on a monitor for a month and told me to hit record when I have an attack. It took a few weeks, but I finally had one and when he read it, said my heart was beating 4 times faster than normal during an attack. It's called PSVT, something you are born with. So the point of my story is, if you think something is wrong-go with your gut. It's terrible that Nicole had gone to 3 doctors and still didn't get an answer. I know ER's are understaffed these days, and doctors work long hours, but they are in charge of lives. Worth the extra few minutes to take a blood test for someone instead of having to deal with a death, lawsuit, etc. I feel for her family. So sad.

Thank you renlue for sharing your story! I hope that you're doing ok now. And yes, it's always a good idea to go with one's gut feeling. It's even extra sad how she even went to a few different drs and have this as the end result. My heart goes out to her family and friends. And may she RIP and now she's an angel watching over us.

i tottally agree with you! i never been there myself but i KNOW theres alot of doctors that dont know wtf there doing or just dont care!
there just in there to get there 6figures+ (meaning money) each year dont get me wrong im sure theres alot of doctors who knows what there doing /like there jobs and yes i can understand that alot of doctors work ALOT of hours so there sleep is screwed but they could atleast take there time with patients and actually "think" about what there problems could be instead of taking the easy way out and writing a bs prescription etc that wont do a damn thing when they do this i dont think they derserve s*it worth of money only the doctors who take there time and dont always think there right and "LISTEN" to the patients actually derserve there money.
but o well the damn world aint perfect most of the time u just gotta leave it in gods hands
but atleast YOU got your problems fixed
and not just the usual "routine" crap.
p.s. i generally think sueing people is BS! although in certain cases i think it's the right thing to do but nowdays u can get sued for close to anything!!! i cant stand people who try to get rich quick! (nothing against you or anything, im just saying

Wow i cant believe she died, i just found out today due to it being on the main page. At first i thought it said that Teri Polo died, either way it's a tragedy and t's sad how she died too, wow she was so young. R.I.P
I'm confused on how she died, it was misdiagnosis so that means it was the doctor's fault right?
