you know, this is for both of you, my mother told me, as im sure she told you two, if you cant say something nice, dont say anything at all. now to post a contradiction to that rule. you both are acting like children, im here trying to read posts by fans of this actor and all im reading is you two arguing like two 8 year olds fighting over a cookie. the adult thing to do would be to stop commenting on each other and forget it. and "canofvegetables", you ARE conflicting although you said you weren't. i agree that this board was as negative as can be, but still. you did flame him and in continuing this arguement you ARE flaming will forte's fans. and im not sure if it occurred to you, but perhaps will forte's comedic style is exactly as it appears. and im sure that you are not a PAID ACTOR who makes a crapload of money, so i feel that this animosity comes from your inability to do what will forte has. and if you feel that so many people agree with you, why is he STILL on snl? why did they make a MOVIE starring him? oh, right. its because he IS funny, my grandmother even thinks so. sure, she hates his "filthy mouth" as she so sweetly put it, but she still laughs every time hes on screen. this is also to both of you, what exactly does bush have to do with will forte? oh, i remember. absolutely nothing. this message board is one of the most ridiculous ones i have ever read, you both lost sight of the subject. and in reading your banter, i have too. will forte makes more money than me, and you two combined, so it makes no sense to continue arguing over it. heres an idea, instead of sitting online and pissing each other off, why not read a book? or go outside? you might be asking yourself, "why isnt this a-hole practicing what he preaches?" well, i was outside today. so there. i just wached a skit by will forte and thought i saw him in beerfest. and when i saw your comment "canofvegetables", i had to see what you could possibly mean. well, my rant is up. im out of things to say, but before you post replies to this comment, understand that since i have made my point, i will NEVER read this board again, im moving on. as both of you shouldve done a long time ago. so know that i wont be reading any useless comments you have about me, just to make sure that if you do comment, you are wasting only your own time. and to stop any hate, i am voicing an opinion that requires no feedback, just as you two have done. i apologize if feelings are hurt, but its just what i do. by the way, i saw mcgruber the movie and i have never EVER laughed so hard at a movie. in the theater, there was a large number of senior citizens there, none of them left until the movie was over, so i think you are fairly alone on the hate, "can". oh, and i really dont see how you can like ben stiller over will forte. that guy only made me laugh in zoolander. yeah, i said it. zoolander. and "can", if you want your opinion heard by those who share it, make your own anti-forte website, leave these fans with "poor taste" as you put it, alone. goodbye horses.

These are NOT fan boards. These are not sacred cows. These are boards where people bring their opinions. They can be polite - which is the best possible reaction/response - or they can be ignorant asses with each other but wouldn't the world be better if people just let each other express their opinions about the items on these boards without hurling insults?
I just don't see the point of throwing insults at each other. However, it's sometimes so tempting when one is hidden behind the wall of anonymity. I know I've slipped a couple of times.
I think if people treat these boards like conversations, there would be more respect and perspective. For instance, in a normal conversation someone might bring up someoda0ne they don't think is funny. As a part of normal conversation. That's why someone might come to a board to discuss a person or picture that that they don't like, or that they love. As I say, these boards are for conversation, they are not FAN boards.
Anyway, carry onyou two seem to be having a respectful conversation. -

Except that IMDB is a public discussion board, NOT a "fan" board. If you want only positive discussion of someone's attributes, feel free to go to a fan website, or to start one yourself.
I use IMDB as a "Consumer Reports" type resource, to find out the good and bad attributes of entertainment.
So please save worrying about "negative" comments here - they're supposed to be here. -

Intellectual discourse is OK. i.e. I think it's perfectly healthy to say it when you think something or someone is not funny, etc. To not speak up isn't a very free expression of your life, is it?
Anyway, in the c5b4ase of Wil Forte, I too think he's not funny. In fact, I'm watching MacGruber right now, and I was wondering if I was seriously missing 'The Joke', so I decided to see what the rest of the internet community had to say. It turns out my instinct was right this guy's a joke, and this movie really is a waste of my time. I'm not really missing anything, because there's nothing to miss in this sophomoric miasma of predictable plots, lines, and horrible acting. It's like watching a Jr. High play, written by taking every other paragraph from a stack of fanfic it feels like an amateurish ripoff, and not funny like the first Austin Powers. (But a lot like the second 2 which were just a parody of themselves).
PS. Love K. Wiig, but hate her in this movie. Tempted to stop watching now so I won't begin to hate her. I might need to watch Whip It just to clear the pallet.
PPS. An 'upper-decker'?! OK, that's funny. Disgusting, but :). -

I completely agree. He's not funny. How this guy got a movie is beyond me.
If Will Sasso, who might be the best scetch comedian of all time can't get a movie but this guy can We need new people running hollywood. -

He is very funny and smart!!! Anyone can act crazy and overcommit in the name of comedy but he is not only a very funny commedienne he is an intelligent writer. The Brothers Soloman is a very funny smart movie, thanks to him!!

Especially this ''And he and Arnett look like they have great chemistry in The Brothers Solomon.'' Arnett&Forte - MY heros. They have total chemistry in that movie which makes it amazing.

Were just WHAT?! How about YOU morons who come on imdb sites for fans just to nag about how much you hate it. I agree, he uses the same stupid "dad" voice for EVERY character he plays. Kristin Wiig does the same dang thing. This is the least funny cast they have ever had. I end up fast forwarding through most of the shows now. I really only tune in to see the hosts. And would somebody please cut Andy Sanburg's rats nest he calls hair?? What a dork!!

I agree for the most part that Will Forte is not funny. I used to groan at the Falconer skits and the Kelly brothers' appearances on Weekend Update. His general delivery, as stated in other replies to this thread, takes away from the material's comedic potential. On the other hand, Will was hilarious as Tim Calhoun (the nervous wannabee-politician).

Will Forte is the most unfunny, cringe-worthy, and annoying cast member in SNL history. He makes me sick and reminds me of a pedophile, when he's not playing pedophiles.
Norm McDonald is one of my favorites of all-time. I think he's one of the all-time greats and a true comedy genius. Best delivery EVER!
