They went on on a reunion tour in 1996, yes. They also toured in 1998 and then had their "farewell" tour in 2000. Here's what Ace had to say about not touring with KISS in 2003:

he's got a good point. think about it he really loved being in KISS but he also wants a solo albulm. and plus he does have a life outside the band, and he has other priorities, hey i wish it was the original 4 members there entertaining the crowd but you gotta move on.

I doubt Ace or Peter will be dropping by shows. Since the reunion, Peter and Ace were only "contracted players" not actual equal partners of the band. They were no different than all of the other people that have ever been in the band since the original line-up. (Even Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick, for all of their years in KISS were hired hands, not members.) Gene and Paul have screwed them over so many times and in so many ways, it would have to be a very extraordinary circumstance to get them all together again. Gene and Paul have bastardized KISS and will continue to do so until the day they die.
I have been lucky enough to see KISS before they took off the make-up, after, and since the reunion. (I unfortunatley also got to see the tour with Aerosmith where Tommy "Fake Ace" Thayer, provided a technically compitent, but completely, and horribly uninspiring and performance). I have my wonderful memories of several incredible KISS shows, but now I think the tribute bands probably put alot more heart and caring into a show than the actual "band" does.

You said Gene and Paul have screwed them over so many times. And you are quite correct!! ANd it makes me mad as well.
Ace has and will always be my fave member of Kiss.. what nerve Tommy Thayer has to put on Aces' makeup and costume.
Lets go back and remember in 1978 when the band put out their solo lps at the same time. Whose was the best? And who had a top 20 hit from his? Ace all the way baby!! -

Yeah stickler-2 I know this board is about Ace, that is why I was defending him. Saying noone should wear his makeup and costume in Kiss. At least Eric Carr did not cop Peters when he left the first time.
I had no idea Ace was in a movie.. when was it released? -

It was released on DVD at the end of March. You can get it on Amazon.com or rent at most big places.

I agree that no one but Ace should wear Ace's make up, but it would be very hard for someone else to turn down the chance to tour with KISS as the Spaceman.
I really hope the original four get back together again. -

Believe it or Not: Gene was asked once if he could see a KISS some day without all the original members? He stated yes!! He even said that he could see a KISS without him in it, Cause KISS has gotten even too big for him or Paul. (Not sure if Paul would agree with that one). Eric Singer had to dress in the Catman outfit back in 2000/2001. I'm sure Peter was alittle taken aback by that one.

Ace and Peter they both suck there both just the suckiest member KISS ever had no wonder they didn't stay in the band and got fired twice Bruce and Eric Carr and Singer they never did anything Bruce lasted in the band for 12 years I believe If KISS didn't decide to do the Reunion tour Bruce would still be in the band wish he rejoined
