You are not alone in your comment. I too called my friends to tell them about this amazing casting of a girl who looked just like Meryl Streep, playing her as younger.
Before I found out Mamie Gummer is her daughter. More laughable than retarded -

I didn't know she's her daugher, I was watching Evening trailer and couldn't guess which one of the blond ladies is Streepthen I freaked out with a thought 'ugh, maybe that's her daughterno way' and now I'm here. Still freaked out.

lol..wow, she has made it to the big screen. The last I saw of her must have been while I was applying for Jr.Highschool. My older brother was in her class and I was visiting to see a school play they were in. Great acting thenand obviously getting better with age. I was in class with her younger sister's, who is quite a good actor as well. I wonder if Gracie will follow the family to the screen as well. Only time will tell.

I can definitely see how Jennifer Ehle and Meryl Streep favor. I love them both! Jennifer and her mother, Rosemary Harris, also look very much alike.

Mamie was really good in Evening. That's the only movie I've seen with her, except for House of the Spirits and Heartburn. But I don't really count those since she was a child! It will be great to follow her career.
