Trump literally campaigned on reducing trade deficit and bringing manufacturing back home. Economic protectionism is what MAGA wants and voted for. Economically illiterate retards crying about the stock market are failing to see the bigger picture and strategic goals that Trump's admin is trying to accomplish.
Besides, it doesn't matter if tariffs temporarily hurt US economy, as long as economies of US adversaries are hurt even more. And trust me, US adversaries will suffer much worse than the US !

US is one of the most self-sufficient economies in the world. US trade-to-GDP ratio is 27,04 %, whereas EU trade-to-GDP ratio is 101,65 % lol.
EU exports $605.8 billion worth of goods to the US, whereas US exports only $370.2 billion to the EU.
Guess who has more leverage. Guess who will suffer more in any potential economic confrontation.

If you weren't as dumb as a rock, you would know that late 19th century was an amazing period for the United States. Rapid industrialization, fast economic growth, history defining victory against Spanish empire. It was during that period that US transitioned from regional power to world power.
