Totally agree!!! I thought, ok, Modine died his hair black for the part in Little Girl Lives Down the Lane. Shocked to find out differently!!

Hey I agree. I don't know Scott Jacoby (but I had a crush on him when I was much much younger) but I do know Matthew and his family. In "Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane" Scott looks and sounds just like Matt.

Okay, I am sure I am being picky but since Scott is a little bit older and began acting about 15 years BEFORE Matthew Modine, I would have to say5b4 that Matt looks and sounds just like Scott! LOL Regardless, both are terrific actors. I LOVE Matthew Modineand I would love to have seen Scott do much more than he did.

Seriously I just watched The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane and got online to find out when Scott Jacoby changed his name to Matthew Modine!

I have been a Scott Jacoby fan for along time. Scott was born in 1956, and has been acting way before Matthew Modene (who is a good actor in his own right).
It's Scott Jacoby who's in that movie. And Scott doesn't remind you of Matt, it's Matt who reminds you of Scott. I love both actors, but I was pasting pictures of Scott Jacoby in the early 70's before Matthew even considered acting. Thanks.

I thought it was a young Matthew Modine, too. So maybe you are the one in the wrong Brenda since everyone BUT you is reminded of Matthew Modine

I just saw the Little Girl Who Lived Down the Lane, and I was completely reminded of Matthew Modine myself. I knew if I looked on IMDB that somebody would have a thread on it also, and it's the first one! I didn't think it was him because I thought the age might be a little off and there wasn't an exact resemblanceobviously since it's a different person. Jacoby could definitely be a cousin of Modine's though, or even a brother! Crazy likeness, mannerisms and everything.

I am not wrong. I own the movie and it is Scott Jacoby, not Mathew Moding, who is in it. It's not a big deal. Just Scott is older and has been acting alot longer than, Mathew Modine. I grew up watching Scott in movies and tv shows. Scott was in alot of teen mags (Tiger Beat and 16 Magazine) to name a few.

I totally agree, too - I'm just watching the movie for the first time now, and I was going to start this thread if it hadn't existed! It's not just his face, it's his voice and speech cadence, too.

It's the jawline, from under the nose, downdifferent noses and eyes, and Modine's voice is a bit rougher than Jacoby's, really, not quite as smooth and almost breathy.

I watched "Our Winning Season" the other morning. (great movie) And I thought the same thing. He is almost identical. I wonder what he looks like now. What happened to him?
