I know this is an old post but I have a few points:

    1. Sometimes a person doesn't realize what they're in for when they become famous. They don't know what type of attention they'll get until it actually happens to them.
    2. EVERYONE has bad days. Celebs have days they don't want attention EVERYONE, no matter who they are has days they wish they could hide. They can't choose not to be famous one day, it's not like it's a switch they can turn off.
3.For all you know the OP is lying.

You expect him to sign 150 pieces of paper because that is your expectation of what he owes people? I question who the selfish ones are. Why is his name on a piece of paper so important?
It's you who set your son up for dissapointment by making him promises you were not sure of.

Although I do agree that celebrities have the right for an off day where they can be a total ass, I think they should set their bad mood aside when it comes to press tour because it's part of their job. They are getting paid not just for acting, but for PROMOTING the movie which entails being nice to fans and future audience.

He was likely paid a good few million to do the movie, just to act like someone who closely resembles his own personality. Promotion is the hardest work, and pretty much the only real work he did for the movie, and if he's getting paid millions of dollars for it then he could at least act as though he deserves a fraction of the money.

Wait.he signed some autographs in the first rowso it's not like he didn't sign any. Did he say anything rude? People can not feel happy it's human. I really haven't heard any Kevin James jerk stories

Yea I think people really discredit themselves by making false statements, especially when the cameras show otherwise I've never heard of Kevin James being a jerk and if so, who cares if you paid to see the movie, that's what you got, entertainment. He doesn't get paid to sign autographs and in most cases, does it as part of publicity for "upcoming" events There was no solid evidence of him being a "jerk" nice.

Sorry the OP has a valid point.
It is different when people post on here and say I saw So and So at an airport and they were rude to me, or I was at a restaurant and I walked over to their table and they were rude.totally differentyou're treading on their personal space.
When a celebrity is doing a personal appearance you give it your all. It sounded like James didn't want to be there.
Well too bad if he was tired. You put on your game face and you deliver.
He should be thankful people showed up and wanted his autograph.

OP should wake up! The industry isn't what it used to be in your time. These days actors are working slaves and do it all for the money. Actor like Kevin isn't a nice person in real life, he's a greedy and sellfish person. Cause that's the only kind of people that would even want to do the job they are doing.

Your post makes no sense. Living in LA for many years I have come across many actors. I can't think of any who were rude or selfish.
The "working slaves" in this country are your average middle class worker who is getting squeezed more or more.
Or the people who have gotten laid off and can't find jobs or end up taking jobs at half their former salary.
James is very lucky, he was funny in KOQ at that is about it. I have found funnier people waiting tables than him.
I wouldn't call him a slave, I would call him blessed.
He has limited talent, yet has been very successful.

I know I'm very late on this post, but just had to put my input in. I'm sorry you didn't have the experience you were looking for when you saw him, but you can't call the guy a total jerk. Like many people have said, he had to do so much promotion for the movie and probably has a very busy schedule and almost a type of script he has to stick to when he goes to special events. I've met the man twice and he was quite possibly the nicest celebrity I've meet. The first time he actually got out of his car to sign a couple autographs for me and to take a picture. Most celebrities probably wouldn't even stop, even if they did, I'm sure it's not often where they would actual get out for a photo. The second time I met him he let me up on stage with him and Ray Romano, they both signed my "Grilled" dvd, Kevin signed my arm and gave me a hug twice. He gave me my 2 greatest moments in my life.
I'm sorry you didn't have as great of an experience like you had hoped, but he is not a "Total Jerk" as you think.

He may not be a "total jerk" but when you're doing a public appearance you need to put on your game face.
It's one thing is someone approaches a celebrity in a restaurant or at an airport and they're a "jerk" to some fan because the fan is being intrusive.
But when you're doing a promotion for a movie or at one of those autograph shows you know you're dealing with fans. So even if you don't want to be there or maybe you're not feeling that great, you put on a smile and you remember that without the fans you wouldn't be there.
