I think Mark loves the LOTOR films. Especially the last one.
The review of Fred : The Movie is on Youtube. A funny review. Just turn down your speakers otherwise Dr. Kermode's review will blow up your speakers!
As for the first two Spidermans Mark loves them as well. I think he even put Spiderman 2 on his Top 10 films of 2004. -

There was a very comprehensive A-Z from 2004 onwards a year or so ago. It got binned for a list from just the last few years instead. The old ones are hard to find, try youtoob or torrent maybe.

I agree, and I recall Kermode saying that 'if any of them were Oscar-worthy, it's the first one', of course it was ROTK, generally held as the poorest, which took home 10+ Oscars.

"The first one's the only one I'm fussed about. The second one was just guys with swords hitting orcs for 2 hours and the 3rd had its moments but was basically a mess."
my sentiments exactly. i dont get all teh acclaim for the third one-especially in regards to the SFX-in some scenes it was pretty awful!!! -

TTT was just hitting Orcs for 2hrs? I suppose you could say something similar about the battle scenes in 7 Samurai or Zulu. The whole battle for Helm's Deep was my favourite part of the whole trilogy -though I could have done without the dwarf tossing.
