Is she white, mulatto or mestizo?

For the last time, this woman looks mestiza. Part white, part native american. Not mulata like Cristina Milian.
She could have a black ancestor, but that is not mulata.
You, like many americans, obviously have no idea about the cuban culture and the term "mulato".

I am from the Caribbean, living in Miami (one of the highest, if not the highest concentration of people of Cuban descent in the US). So you assumed and look very stupid that I know nothing. I have been to Cuba many times(as I say again) and those people do NOT think she is mestiza. She is mulatta. Again, do not let the straightened and colored hair fool you, nor the nose job.

Well I know there are going to be like 15 posts trying to break down her ethnicity and go into a whole history Eva said it herself at the golden globes that she Cuban American. So that's what she is.

In every country apart from USA they distinguish blacks and mulattos from each other and in the majority of those countries they base peoples race on how they look like. Eva Mendes may have a distant African ancestor but she's cleary of White/Native American origin, which makes her mestiso if not White that she mostly look like. Calling her anything else then that would be ludicrous.

I'd like to believe that you're jerrycantrell's sockpuppet (mostly since your writing looks strikingly similar to his) but unfortunately there are a lot of people out thee truly dumb enough to believe if a hispanic isn't as dark as Sammy Sosa or Celia Cruz, they're automatically all or mostly white (as if skin tone alone determines race. If it does, than Jennifer Beals must be surely lying about her black parentage). Like I said, this is easily a much wider misconception than the one white latinos exhaustively like to cite about people believing that white hispanics don't exist (which is not was NEVER a common belief. The U.S. categorized ALL Latin American descended citizens as Caucasians more than 50 years ago and hispanic mestizos and mulattoes were once the only people of color allowed to intermarry here).

When she first came out (and was low profile) it was known that she is the product of mulatta parents. Some websites still have that info up. Please stop trying to make her something she is clearly not.

It DOES matter what the majority thinks, that is what is essential in a democracy, for good and bad. However, By your logics Whopi Goldberg is also Mulata cause she got a white ancestor and that is clearly not how the majority of people sees her. But carry on playing the fool.

Yeah, Eva is mulatta and I'm amazed there are still people who try to classify what you are by what you look like. My niece and nephew have blonde hair blue eyes and look like your standard white Americans, but their father is African-American. Looks are in no way a 100% indication of what someone is.

I don't know where you live, but here in Miami where there is one of the, if not the, LARGEST Cuban/Cuban-American population in America, they think she is MULATTA. I've been to Cuba and they say she's mulatta. But that doesn't matter either. Why? Because the fact is she is one. Eva is a mulatta. Jennifer Beals doesn't "look" mulatta, but she is. Not neccesary but that's how people sees you. No one would accept if Denzel Washington would say he's part Native American, especially not Black people. If Ms. Mendes would have distant Black ancestry like I said was possible it still doesn't make her more black then what Whoopi Golderg or Don Cheadle are white (both had 10/20% White ancestry in a recent DNA test). And by the way, there is no place on the net stating she would be mulata. Give me a source LOL
