It kills me people like her are vitrually forgotten.
I think its because I grew up with the grandparents for awhile that I have an appreciation for the films of old.
For instance, I saw Debbie Reynolds live a few months ago. And wow.
I mean, I like the Stones, the Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, but the PERSONALITIES of the old entertainers were so larger than life. Today its, who, Rob Schnieder.
I think its ashame they don't use people like Reynolds while they STILL CAN.

But Eth sings so well, on the CDs she creates all the imagery you need.

There's a new biography of the Merm coming out this fall. Maybe that will help to reawaken intrest in her! I love her too.

Why were all of Joan Crawford Fan's (I think that was her name) post deleted? They were perfectly appropriate.

I'm 22 and I think she's one of the classiest ladies to ever have graced the stage or screen. It's a shame indeed that Merman doesn't get more publicity than she does. Even though she passed over 20 years ago, her films are still a treat to watch. I just wish they'd release Merman's version of ANYTHING GOES onto DVD. I'm so very grateful that 20th Century-Fox finally released CALL ME MADAM onto DVD in 2004I 1c84just wish now that someone would restore and re-release the film soundtrack on CD.

22, she was a great personality. Her comic timing in 'Kid Millions' with Eddie Cantor was terrific.
