The drugs and self-indulgence was her choice, but gets a free pass.

I see Judy Garland as receiving more passes and exonerations by fans, than her funny looking daughter. I also think the Liza's troubles, were very much a consequence of Garland's own behaviour and conditioning and something that Minnelli hasn't really been able to get a grip of or deal with in her life. Yes, she would have been spoiled and was given opportunities due to connections; but that doesn't mean we can't have empathy for her, due to her own privileged star mother, who I don't think was strong enough, self-empowered enough or even self-aware enough, to project this onto her troubled daughter.

So what you're saying is you're pissed off because you feel Liza didn't "get in trouble"? Too bad.
And as far as what people are and aren't able to control, YOU are able to control your reactions and your emotions, yet you don't want to feel accountable for this stuff. It's always somebody else who is to blame. You are a 60 year old crybaby and the biggest hypocrite around these parts.
