Why do people think that Kate Moss is really really cool?

I've never met her, but I met a friend of hers at a party a friend of mine threw in london about 5 years ago - My friend is a photographer who did some fashion work. Anyway, her friend was a very strange person indeed - eyeliner, weird long hair, the works. If I recall correctly we was a designer. He spent most of the night, from what I remember, staring at me balefully as I chatted up a nice Jewish girl. He had all the personality and charm of a stewed newt.
Now, if she's cool, and he's her friend, they're welcome to 'coolness'. I'd rather be a human being. -

A little better than your experience, I'd imagine.
In fact he didn't claim to be her friend. A number of make-up artists and photographers present told me so. Having met her, they had their views on Ms. Moss herself, which would not change my poorly-informed-but-much-better-than-most opinion. -

You used one meeting with a friend of hers that seemed stoned and stared at you "balefully" as a way of measuring her character. As for first-hand reports a lot of people who have met Kate Moss say she is very sweet and friendly but I'm not going to claim that I know what she's like because you can't claim to know what somebodies really like if you've never m2000et them.

Certain people just give offvibes, to me. Celebrities and the like, either they make me calm or uncomfortable. Gemma Ward for example, I don't know her personally, but part of her look makes me think she'd hate me if she knew me. Perhaps some of the public just sees how she acts in in2000terviews, how she walks around, that sort of thing.
And Kate seems cool.
It's a hard to explain part of how our heads work, as human beings. -

Super model.
Rich.
Goes out with junkie rock star (or did).
Waif, skinny look.
Rebelious, rock n roll lifestyle.
Drugs.
I think it sort of explains itself. I don't know why this has been asocciated with 'cool', but it just is.
I just wanna touch and kiss, I wish that I could be with you tonite~ Michael Jackson -

Because she is from Croydon which is part of the "ghetto" of London and she is now a supermodel. She made the term Croydon face lift which is when girls pull back their hair so much it stretches the skin on the face. Therefore she is cool.

Has it ever occured to you that maybe there is more to a person than whether they do - or have done - drugs or not? Lots of people find her cool which is why she tops coolest celebrity lists and I doubt they're all druggies that vote for her.

I don't believe her unhealthy decisions are what makes her image appear "cool". Sure, some people think smoking is sexy, but ultimately I think it's the fact that she understands she's not going to live forever, and the only thing she can do is have fun while she still has time. In the end, we will all be dead regardless to how healthy we try to be, so why not have a happy life doing what you enjoy most whether that is being super skinny or addicted to drugs. The fact that she's not afraid to do dangerous & crazy things makes us admire her and wish we could be more like her, more carefree. Plus, she has a wonderful sense of style and such a unique face!
