I get confused again and again about his religious background. I believe he is a Christian, but some people say he is Mormon, which has somewhat different views from the Christian faith. Does anyone know exactly what belief system he is? Not that it matters to me that much, I am just curious.

If he only "mentioned" the name Jesus or the fact that he was a Christian then I wouldn't have even brought it all up.
You just keep telling yourself that, sweetie. It would pain you too much to have to admit that you're nothing but a narrow-minded bigot.
Everyone who watches interview shows has to sit through interviews with people who "thank Jesus" for "making me the man/woman I am." No one's forcing you to stay on that channel, no one's telling you you have to convert. You manage to listen to the Dianetics people blathering about their religion without coming here to post your intolerance, so why don't you grow a pair and not get so hypersensitive over Mr O'Brien.

hehe - i don't doubt it.
Some people responded to this thread with a type of "oh, he's not that bad" or a "Just because somebody is religious doen't make them weird" attitude. Well, those people don't realize just how much of a religious CREEPO the kid was !
I'm not just saying he was religious. I'm saying he was a religious CREEPO who probably began preaching while he was on the movie set ! The whole time him & his sister were on Letterman they were acting like brainwashed cult-members who only knew how to say "and my savior Jesus Christ" before and after every sentence which came out of their mouths. -

I have to agree with the majority of posters here - How come celebs ( kids, actors whatever) can get excited about anything - political stance, breast cancer, their latest vacation or relationship or new car! But when it comes to what th1ebcey feel is most important, they are weird if they are excited aabout it.
Also as stated before, kids in this business have a really tough time staying true to their morals ( if they have any) even on auditions they are asked to swear or do things that most children don't have to face. Yes it's a choice, nobody has to be an actor, but if it's what they love and are good at, it is really hard to make everyone happy (agents, managers etc.) and still not compromise. It takes a little extra work. I just think that's why Austin and his sister may have been a little over the top during that interview. Just a hard line to walk.
I'm happy to see someone with a strong belief system in place, it's helps in this competitive biz.
BTW- Even though Austin is in my name, there's no relation. -

I totally remember him on talk shows at that age & I was so happy that there was a kid & his family that wouldn't jsut let him be thrown into the fire of Hollywood just for the sake of fame. He seriously talented & could have been famous a long time ago.

See everyone ? I'm not crazy !!! This kid is a total religious psycho !!!
go ahead & blow it off if you want - but I'm telling ya he's a RELIGIOUS FREAK who will make you regret it !!!<<
Actually, you're the only one appearing to be a "creepo" as described in this thread. There is actually no logic of any kind in any of your posts. Even in the post I attached this reply to you come across as totally irrational. "who will make you regret it" you say. Exactly HOW do you think this could happen. Is Austin going to jump out of the screen the next time I see him, arrest me for the Inquisition, and threaten to have me burned at the stake? Here's a news flash for you: "The Last Action Hero" was FICTION. Get yourself a grip on reality.
His beliefs - or lack thereof - are a matter of no importance to anyone but him. They don't affect his performance, they don't affect my life, and they don't impact me OR YOU in any way. Your continual harping on this indicates that you have a serious emotional problem. Why not get the professional help you clearly need and let go of what is, without a doubt, a non-issue. -

And OP reveals its true colors. It had nothing better to reply, realized it had painted itself into a corner, so it tells you to shut up. Gosh, that's truly an eloquent response, displaying exactly the worthiness of this thread.
If it had any class, it would remove this thread. Truth is, though, that its real goal was to bash someone whose views she disliked, nothing less than that, and hoped it could pull a few bottom feeders up on the line it threw into the waters. It succeeded in that, as well. Maybe you all need to look at yourselves and ask how you all got to be such jerks.

Most actors arent Religious Creepos, they are Liberal Creepos which is the same thing because Liberalism, ie Political Correctness, becomes their religion so at least he's not that, huh.
