I know I just watched Yasmin last night and thought she did a really good Yorkshire accent but was convinced after Bend It Like Beckham that she was from London - anyone know?

Absolutely beautiful,i watched A VERY SOCIAL SECRETARY last night and could not keep my eyes off her! Didn't know she was the yasmin in YASMIN,will definitely watch out for that if it's repeated,and shes in CONSTANT GARDENER too!

I don't think she's from Pakistan. I went to a screening of 'Yasmin' a couple of years ago when it was at the London Film Festival. Archie was in the audience and she gave a talk at the end of the screening. During the talk she mentioned that she was Indian. Not by nationality but by descent. She's a British National.

I think she's tremendous. I loved her character in BILB, but she really amazed me in Constant Gardener. Such range!

I briefly saw her in Code46. She spoke in a lovely Hindi accent ^^
But i'm sure her native accent is London British.

to the OP, since when did cockney and scottish become related? you assume that becuase she can do a cockney accent, she might be scottish. explain

my point was that cockney and scottoish are not 5b4related in the least, nowhere near each other so never mind if she was brought up in scotland, it doesn't merit her a cockney accent
