You may really really love journey, but Steve doesn't have a wife and kids. Steve never had throat cancer.
Steve is fine. He went to his ceremony for the star on the Hollywood Walk of fame last year with Journey. They didn't expect him to come, but he was there. And he was fine.
He just sang on a jazz album in 2004, and he sounds perfect. He sang on a Hawaiian album in 2003, good strong voice.
He wants to walk the beach, produce music, and be left alone in privacy.
Wife and kids, that's pretty funny. -

"He just sang on a jazz album in 2004, and he sounds perfect. He sang on a Hawaiian album in 2003, good strong voice. "
That's a bit of an overstatement. Steve delivered some back-up vocals on David Pack's new album. He sounded nice, but it was all done in his low range. He also made an appearance in Chicago recently and hung with the Sox. At their post-game celebratory parade Steve went on stage and attempted to sing "Don't Stop Believing"it was worse than horrid. His high range is toast. Very sad.

I just wanted to say that I think that he looked so good when he was young and with Journey, He was kind of an attractive man. I kind of wish that he was not in his 50's now.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored. -

I can't believe all the negative stuff about Steve Perry. Singing like he did for all those years has to have some effect on your voice. Does everyone expect to look the same when they are in their 50's? No matter what he looks or sounds likehe is an amazing musician. He spent as much time as he wanted on tour and now just wants a normal life. It sucks that it had to result in Journey finding a new lead singer. I have actually seen them in concert a few times. I like that he doesn't sound exactly like Steve Perry. That would be creepy. I am just thankful that we all can still have an opportunity to see Journey in concert.

"Wife and kids, that's pretty funny."
How is the idea of him having a wife and kids pretty funny?
I believe you, but I'm just curious as to why it's funny

What's wrong with him being in his 50s? He's still attractive and talented.
If you're missing the young Stevie, there's plenty of him on DVD and videotape.

I believe it was Bette Davis who said, "Old age ain't for sissies." As someone who is about to hit the half-century mark, trust me when I say that man's still got it goin' on! I've been enjoying the voice and the view for 27 years.
Regarding Journey's new lead, how does anyone get past the fact that he looks like Tiny Tim, as in "Tiptoe Through the Tulips"? -

This is way off base. Steve does have a daughter. If you know him so well, you would know this. I don't believe for one second that you know him. If you did, again I will say this, Steve doesn't let any part of his private life out on the net, in print, not anywhere.
Again, I don't believe in what you are saying. This is such fabrication. How can you dupe people into believing you know Steve? -

Hey Kristen, don't speak for me. I have a friend who has known Perry for 24 years, and they confirmed it to me.
And btw, I am female, not male. Get your facts straight before posting.
And.. don't tell me what to do.

Honispyce74,
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this. Moyes Lucas, the drummer for the Strange Medicine band has his own website. I went there today to look for that question about Steve's daughter. Here is two url's.
http://www.moyeslucasjr.homestead.com/2002answers/August.html
http://www.moyeslucasjr.homestead.com/2002answers/september.html
You may have to copy and paste it to your browser. After that, read down the page, and you will see where Moyes talks about Steve's daughter. These are from 2002. I haven't read Moyes site in awhile, so I don't know if there is anything more recent.
