I have been struggling to come up with something positive. I think Chairman-Meow put it very well. He is good at getting people to hire him despite being a pompous douche bag, how about that?

There is no greater silence than when someone asks for nothing but kind things about Brett Ratner
a narcisstic, mysogynistic a-hole who leaves a trail of crappy movies wherever he goes. "Tower Heist" sank like a bargeful of turds, and it had the Mark of Ratner all over it - stupefyingly cheesy and bombastic, with a ridiculous ending. X-Men 3 drove a stake into th1908e heart of a great franchise thanks, Singer, for being too busy to keep X-3 out of Ratner's greedy hands.
I have no idea what dude he's performing or*l sex on to get the sorts of plum jobs he gets while being 100% unqualified for them, but whomever it is, it's working.

He probably tries to be less offensive to homosexuals these days. I don't know that for a fact, but I have to assume.

he never killed a puppy, that's what I can say,
I don't know, I am not a hater just to hate,
but he is very uncomfortable to look at,
I don't know there is just something about him that makes me very uneasy, his personality, his movies are not good, he ruined X men,
he comes off as really arrogant and full of himself, he is just not a great director,
          I'll look down, and whisper
          no

He is a POS who saw a talented director coming up behind and him did everything in his power to get this director fired from his job. Research Joseph Kahn. K thnx bi.

                Dear msunknown,
I think we all learned something here, don't you? Like, the surest way to get someone utterly destroyed is to tell everyone to post only nice things about him/her. I know you didn't mean for that to happen, but now you have absorbed a most valuable lesson: never force people to be nice because they will turn on you and rip you to shreds. Be thankful they stopped with Mr. Ratner.
I think you will find that most successful Hollywood types will receive the same treatment. Sometimes it's actually justified, too!
Now, I want everyone to post only nice things about Kristin Stewart. NO trashing her, either, dammit! I'm not even kidding. You better do what I tell you!
                ekw

                    He didn't say anything wrong
And yes.. I'm serious People are so focused on being politically correct that we don't see that he just used a word that means something very different depending on the context.
F-a-g is a term in Britain for cigarettes.. you idiots going to hold it against Brian Johnson (AC/DC's lead singer) for referring to them as such?
His mistake.. was that he backed down.. he should have told detractors to screw off and grow a pair.

Bryan Singer undid the mess that Brett made of the X-Men franchise. Does that count?

at expense of a couple teenagers getting sodomized, I don't know if it was worth it.

All of those people are leagues ahead of Ratface. Bay has made a couple decent flicks, as well as Shyamalan. Their bad movies are also much more entertaining then anything Brett has made. even W.S. anderson has made event horizon, which was watchable.

You can say whatever you want about him and that is ok by me but one thing is crystal clear and that is he is a director who has a great ear for great film scoring. And that is a rarity among "younger" directors out there. And in my book that`s respect.

Red Dragon is a fine, underrated film. However, I believe most of that belongs to the great cast and quality screenplay by Ted Tally (Silence of the Lambs). Other than thatuhI got nothing.

Red Dragon (the book) is quite a bit different from Silence of the Lambs (the book). Ratner Made the Red Dragon film feel like a freaking carbon copy of the SOTL film. I LOVE that series, but hell that's like Silence of the Lambsthe Ratner version. It's rated so low because of this.
