he never killed a puppy, that's what I can say,
I don't know, I am not a hater just to hate,
but he is very uncomfortable to look at,
I don't know there is just something about him that makes me very uneasy, his personality, his movies are not good, he ruined X men,
he comes off as really arrogant and full of himself, he is just not a great director,
I'll look down, and whisper

Dear msunknown,
I think we all learned something here, don't you? Like, the surest way to get someone utterly destroyed is to tell everyone to post only nice things about him/her. I know you didn't mean for that to happen, but now you have absorbed a most valuable lesson: never force people to be nice because they will turn on you and rip you to shreds. Be thankful they stopped with Mr. Ratner.
I think you will find that most successful Hollywood types will receive the same treatment. Sometimes it's actually justified, too!
Now, I want everyone to post only nice things about Kristin Stewart. NO trashing her, either, dammit! I'm not even kidding. You better do what I tell you!

He didn't say anything wrong
And yes.. I'm serious People are so focused on being politically correct that we don't see that he just used a word that means something very different depending on the context.
F-a-g is a term in Britain for cigarettes.. you idiots going to hold it against Brian Johnson (AC/DC's lead singer) for referring to them as such?
His mistake.. was that he backed down.. he should have told detractors to screw off and grow a pair. -

All of those people are leagues ahead of Ratface. Bay has made a couple decent flicks, as well as Shyamalan. Their bad movies are also much more entertaining then anything Brett has made. even W.S. anderson has made event horizon, which was watchable.

You can say whatever you want about him and that is ok by me but one thing is crystal clear and that is he is a director who has a great ear for great film scoring. And that is a rarity among "younger" directors out there. And in my book that`s respect.

Red Dragon (the book) is quite a bit different from Silence of the Lambs (the book). Ratner Made the Red Dragon film feel like a freaking carbon copy of the SOTL film. I LOVE that series, but hell that's like Silence of the Lambsthe Ratner version. It's rated so low because of this.

Well, I do want to go on record and say I do think Manhunter is a far superior film than Red Dragon, I never read the books so any information is welcome on how accurate the adaptations are. This being said, I do still like Red Dragon. Rather is not a good director in my eyes despite having a film I like, anybody can be a one-trick pony, it's consistency that makes a fine director.

I've read the book and Manhunter follows the book quite well. Red Dragon changed quite a bit to make it more like the film Silence of the Lambs. And like you, I do like both films. But Red Dragon just left me feeling cheated or something. The only real flaw of Manhunter in my eyes is that Hopkins isn't playing Lecter. But it was filmed before he did his first role as Lecter, so what can you do. Do read the book sometime. It's a great read.
