mr. scott would be perfect for the role but it could be only after the person who is next in line. although i know he's basically 40 years of age already, he still just looks too young and has been in roles with characters who are way too dark and a little immature as well. in america i think the best known roles for him are in mission impossible 2 and then ever after. and both characters were very immature and unwise which are not characteristics well-associated with james bond. but maybe, just maybe, if this last "brosnan bond" takes a while to finally be released mr. scott would have a chance to change his image in america. he just needs to lighten up a bit more after these roles he's played to really be seen as the confident, sophisticated, free-minded james bond. i hope he wants this role because i think he has so much potential and james bond is one of the most beloved characters in all cinema. he's very important to a lot of people. and he may be best done by a 111cscotsman. just going off a tangent here, but my favorite of couse is sean connery who is from scotland. so i'm gonna root for the scots. hopefully they will once again have in hand james bond. this is now the end of my babling. sorry all

Well.

Not good news, guys! From an interview he gave lately, looks like Dougray Scott won't play a future Bond! A preview poster has posted this before and I have to say a confirmation: we can forget about this possibilitysniff
Probably Dougray does not want a future association to the "Licensed to Kill"16d0 "forever and ever" Maybe he's right.
Oh well! sniff

There was a rumour quote a while ago, I think the producers talked about it with him. I heard he turned the part down, though, because he didn't think he was suave enough with the ladies to be Bond.
Too bad, though. He's a great actor. -

I think he is suave enough to play Bond. Dougray has the looks and the talent to pull the role off. Dougray has made wise career choices in his acting abilities, but you never know what is going to happen.

I think he is too old now but to me he has this perfect bond look to him. He would have been a good choice if Pierce Brosnan didn't get the role. Goldeneye came out in 1995 so he would have been thirty then.

Says who? When they first played Bond, Connery was 32, Lazenby was 30, Moore was 46, Dalton was 43, Brosnan was 42, Daniel Craig was 38. Moore was in fact 57 before he gave up the role. Seems to me that any man with smooth self confidence and a hint of danger could qualify as Bond, regardless of his age, although I think most men need to be at least 30 before they get to that point and once they hit their 60's the physical demands of the rold might be too much.

I'd pick Scott too but Owen probably wont do it anyway seeing is how he turned it down in the first place when offered the role. He didnt want to do it because of the notion that it wrecks careers and the mantle is hard to get rid once your time is up.
