ah okay, well i'll try remember checking it out then when i'm gonna get more into Mark Twain as a writer and intellectual. so far, i've only read Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn and a couple of short stories as a kid, like literally everyone else

Have you heard of Percival Everett's James? It's apparently Huckleberry Finn from Jim's perspective and it's been on my radar for a while, but I just haven't been in the mood for historical fiction lately. But now that it's won the Pulitzer and National Book Award I should probably get on it lol

nooo but i heard and read so many amazing things about that novel, it's definitely at the top of my to-read list of this year. i might even skim through Twain's Huckleberry Finn story again to be perfectly prepped for Everett's take on it
