Why Holly might make it.
One shining example - Julian McMahon. He was a big aussie soap star, married Danni Minogue, and tried to have a crack at America. After a bit of trying, Aaron Spelling's people took a liking to him and he got the chance to be a recurring character on "Charmed". After that, he got to be Dr Doom in the fantastic four (Rubbish movie, but got him a bigger profile and a good paycheque), and then in Nip:Tuck. That show's been really hot and made him a decent star on primetime TV.
So, if Holly gets the right producers and casting people on her side, she can move up to recurring roles in TV and some more movies, and eventually get into a really good leading role. Then again, she might crash and burn - you never know.
PS Whoever mentioned Martine McCutcheon - I heard she was getting auditions for several top roles, when she massively offended one of Hollywood's top powerbrokers at a party, and sank her chances. Sometime's life's a bitch eh? -

I totally agree with that, it all depends on her next decisions She has appeared on Prison Break and CSI and DOA, at least she's earning some money
Anyway I agree with the "She has to do playboy" thing too XD SHE'S SO HOT! -

I really do not care wether or not Miss Valance makes it BIG in Hollywood. This is not due my being jealous of her nubile young body, unspoilt by years of child bearing and eating of many sayers pasties. No, this is because whenever i have watched her being interviewed she comes across as being arrogant, aloof and extremely unlikable. This, for me, makes for a big nil points in the endearing qualities stakes.
Then you have the question of acting ability, well i think i can safely say up to now she is no oscar contender.Thats not to say she couldnt be, there just is no evidence yet to suggest she can.
As for kiss, kiss, i personally think it was one of those songs that everyone pretended to hate but secretly loved, i did.however without sounding bitchy, i genuinely can not remember another one of her songs.
Unfortunatly for Holly the impression she leaves is one of arrogance and haughtiness, if she appeared once in a while with a little humility then people of all nationalities, not just us Brits might like her a bit better.
And come on mate my list would of at least included-
Cate blanchet.
Geofrey Rush.
Toni Colette.
Hugh Jackman.
I will not rise to your challenge as i find it demeaning when individuals from differing nations uptake the old school chestnut of my dads harder than yours.
Anyway every one knows British actors would p*ss all over your list. -

I don't know if anything said is right or wrong but well me and my friend became interested in her because she played Christie in DOA(we are big fan of the video game) and we found her very hot. We have downloaded her clip Kiss Kiss and to be honest with you i keep it because she is near naked in it and really hot, don't care about the song. She was good in DOA in her role, when i hear people say no oscar winning style or such it make me laught, let face it, oscar are alwaysb68 about boring crying movie or beep like that. I like movie with explosion, ass kicking and action, but they never win anything, for me Commando and Predator are still part of the best movie ever done. So i couldn't care less about the oscar thing.
So bottom line is, the only part that i don't like much is that if she is really rude to the fans, thats something i can't support, but this still have to be proved because i have only people words for it
ps : i do think too she should do playboy or nude acting role, her body is amazing

I bet if you could see a photo of all these people bitching about her, they would be over weight unattractive self loathing women, who secretly wish they looked better.They try b68to find physical flaws in everyone else to make themselves feel more worthy. Your bagging a girl because shes 'arrogant, selfish etc etc', but what are you, your behaving exactly like that? I dont think Holly Valance is sitting at home thinking bout you .

I think some of the things Holly has said using humour have been taken out of context.I have seen many interviews and she seems to joke around, but always seems friendly and down to earth.
e.g I'm sure when/if she said the english are 'bitter and twisted', it would have been in a friendly australian/english rivalry type of way.And if anything she would have been talking about the media. -

See it just shows you how it's been took out of context because the whole sentance isn't published, instead just 'bitter and twisted'. She only said it because of the media, who published fake stories etc. about her and other people and how they just love making up lies and putting people down.

i didnt know of holly til i moved to the uk & my gf introduced me to her, ugh horrible music imo it just isnt in my taste (i have a wide variety of taste as well) but i grinned & beared my way thru it just for my gf.. now i am a gay female but to me holly isnt easy on the eyes & is defo not attractive in any way, both personality wise that i have seen nor physically but then i am quite picky.. i have watched neighbours & well its not my cup of tea either.. i have seen these shows she has had small parts ,but for the life of me i can not recall her at all.. to me she is nothing special & i dont see her being huge in the us, canada, south america & among other places.. perhaps in the uk & australia yes, but if she is thriving for an american reign like it seems she wants, i dont see it happening
now this is just my thoughts, agree or disagree it doesnt really matter to me cause as i always say 'to each their own' .. go ahead havee fun with my grammar if that is all you can do then that makes a sad debate about the real topic at hand -

So? Does that mean she should be exempt from criticism? If people feel the need to bitch and rant about her mediocrity, there's really no stopping them. Plus - they don't care if she's a somewhat sucessful actor.

Regarding her music, I think she is good, she sounds ok, gives a sexy performance every time, and these days all the big stars are shaking their money-making-machines, many of them depend on sound engineering & mixing and playback wonders. I think if a good label produced a new album, it would be a hit.
As for her acting, she is hell better than many other actresses, she was mega hot in Prison Break, and again I see these days its mostly about being hot.
As for her personality, well that is none of mine or your business. Being a star does not mean to be a saint/angel/perfectionist etc. I am not going to marry the woman.
As a viewer I enjoy watching Holly sing, dance and act, which is all that matters!
