This is weird. I just realized now that Dennis Farina isn't in GoodFellas. I could have sworn he played Billy Batts.

Watching The Sopranos I swore that Frank Vincent was in Snatch, as well as Out of Sight, Goodfellas and Casino. Only after looking up the Snatch imdb list did I realise that it was Farina in both Out of Sight and Snatch. Very similar.

My advice to you (and all who agree with you) is to stop smoking crack!

I have to ignore your advise there because smoking crack is not only fun and socially acceptable but it is also good for you

For a long time i always got them mixed up. I thought Frank Vincent was Irish or something, i wonder what his real i\talian name is.

His name is Frank Vincent Gattuso. Says it in his IMDb profile.
He doesn't look anything like Dennis Farina. He is a nicer looking man than Farina. He has a straight aqualine nose, whereas Farina's nose is kind of bulbous, and he has a pock-marked complexion. Maybe it's the hair that is confusing you guys.

He obviously DOES look like him if so many people confuse the two.

Now that you all have mentioned it I can see a resemblance to D. Farina. Of course Tony Soprano thinks he looks like the Shah of Iran. 😉

I think the confusion comes from the Billy Batts character having a mustache and looking like Dennis Farina, their mannerism are very similar, and they play in the same type of movies.

No way these two look alike. Dennis Farina has a way more gentle face expression. Vincent to me is the ultimate definition of a GUAPPO!!
Guappo(from the dialect of Naples, Italy):a noun meaning bad guy, "the man", and so on

He totally looks like Farina in Goodfellas. My friend and I were just crediting it to Farina as it being his best role, when, golly gee, it wasn't even his role.

It just goes to show that a lot of us retain mannerisms and "style", as opposed to distinct facial features. Which is why sometimes people mistake you for friends they've known for years
I hadn't given it any thought, but realised they were two different people only yesterday

After reading this thread I looked at my tape copy of Goodfellas, and I think Billy Bats looks more like Farina than Vincent. So I fast-forwarded to the credits to check - but there weren't any! I taped the film from TV, and they must have cut the credits to shorten it. So can someone check the credits on the official video/DVD release and settle this once and for all??
