I'm 17, and got into Brian's music recently. I used to think of the Beach Boys as a 60's surfer rock band (I've heard, and liked, most of their singles throughout the years). Of course, my opinion of them changed drastically when I started digging more into their music, and after I listened to "Pet Sounds" for the first time, I became a big fan of Brian Wilson, and have regarded him as a musical genius ever since!

I'm 22 in 2 weeks, but have been a Beach Boys fan ever since I was 11 and my father played "I Get Around" in the car. Been hooked ever since. Fav albums ever are still Pet Sounds and Smile. To me, Brian and the Beach Boys are much better then the Beatles.

I'm 31, like you I've heard and enjoyed some of their singles over the years but only fairly recently have I gotten more interested in them. Actually my interest was spurred partly from seeing Brian Wilson live at the Bridgeschool Music Festival in I think it was 1998. Bridgeschool is a benefit concert that Neil Young organizes for autism. He always gets tons of top name talent for the show. The year that Brian played (I think he played it last year too actually but I missed the show), The Who was headlining and they also had Sheryl Crow, Pearl Jam, Green Day, Billy Corigan, Lucinda Williams, and of course Neil did a set as he always does. One thing about Bridgeschool that's interesting is that all the bands have to play acoutic, even when they have Ministry and people like that. So I got to see a pretty unique Brian Wilson set. I remember "Surfer Girl" and "God Only Knows" as particular highlights. My brother and his girlfriend didn't like his show that much but I thought it was cool. Then I started hearing about "Pet Sounds" but it took me a few years to find a copy of the album (I refuse to pay $18 for a brand new CD of a 30 year old album, and I was trying unsuccessfully to find it on vinyl). I loved it, and just a few months ago I bought the solo album "Smile" which I think is really fantastic. Just a few weeks ago I bought "Smiley Smile" coupled with "Wild Honey" so I've been listening to those a bit.
Did I not love him, Cooch? MY OWN FLESH I DIDN'T LOVE BETTER!!! But he had to say 'Nooooooooo' -

- Have been a Bea5b4ch Boys fan since I was 11. I have got every beach Boys and Brian Wilson out there, and love every one of them. Brian Wilson is a genius and is my idol and a major inspiration. I saw him perform Smile and thought it was the greatest night ever. Will be a big Brian Wilson/Beach Boys fan until I die.

Got into the Beach Boys when I was 11 (am now 22) after hearing "I Get Around". I immediatly listened to "Summer Dreams" and wore the tape out then my dad brought me "Pet Sounds" which is still my favourite album to this day.

- I got into them after hearing 'I Get Around' in Flight Of The Navigator when I was 6, although I had head some of their songs before then, that was when I really became a fan.
Still as obsessed as ever
. Fans - which best of album is the best one to buy with every song they've ever made?

42, and I've been a fan as long as I know. Maybe the happiest moment of being a Beach Boys fan was picking up the cd/dvd of Pet Sounds tonight, popping it in the car and having my 12 year old son tell me how much he liked the music.
