I've heard that the actuality has been changed a bit from the true story story, but I have to say that this movie absolutely touched me in a way that I will never forget.
I am so infuriated at the fact that ailleen's story has come much too late to save her.
I wept after the movie was over, not to mention, the many times she was forcebly taken advantage of and brutalized.
If only she could've found the help she really needed.
After watching the movie I've been doing some research and have also decided to look into volunteer help with raped and molested women and children.
On The Subject Of CHARLIZE THERON<====
Some of my friends and others have made comments on how terrible charlize looks in this movie and that it ruined there movie experience,,,well,,,as I have bluntly said to them,,,,charlize is an extremely talented actress and people who can't see the real fortitude and wonderous talent it takes to absolutely know your part and become one with it,,,doesn't really have the right to judge.
Call me tacky,,but beauty runs much deeper than what we see visually, and anyone who wouldn't watch a movie because someone wasn't acttractive,,,can never be a true movie critic!
I loved this movie and I hope that more people will be inspired to help others in these kinds of situations. -

yep..
I have recently seen many of her U-tubes
and friends tha5b4t came to testify.
Her father committed suicide in prision,
probably dealing with EXTREME abuse from
her granddad. One childhood friend testifys
they skipped school together her granddad
beat her with a belt for 5 min straight
in front of the friend in the kitchen
That was just one example. Her whole life
was a mess from the beginning. The movie
is excusing her(as she was put to death)
Its showing how sick and twisted things
can become -especially with extreme
verbal, mental, and emotional abuse
like hers being raped by brother age 7,
etc was. These are things we cant even imagine
ourselves!!! -

No real reason? What about the first one (in the movie) the one that tortures her? I personally didnt feel any sympathy for him. The one that kneeled down and begged for his life I did however feel great sympathy for. He didnt do anything wrong. That was horrible. I do not in any way approve of the murders she committed but I also feel very sorry for her. Yes she was a killer but I do not think she was a cold-bloode111cd killer. Someone should have helped her in time. Now its to late.

Well actually, there is no proof that she was tortured by her first victim (Richard Mallory, i think) just her word for it. There is proof that all these men begged for their life

I so appreciate your proactive approach tob68 seeing this, takiing action and going out there and helping others who have suffered like Aileen did. I too cried at the end when I saw Selby coerce her, and then at the end credits that explained when she was excuted. I didn't know anything about this, so it was a real shock. And, I felt the same way, it's too late! She CAN'T be helped now. But I'm curious about the last poser's comment that there's PROOF the men begged for mercy, how can anyone PROVE something like that? That's the real issue here, no one ever really knows what happened, in ANY case, except those actually involved. And even then it can still be hard to weed out the truth.

I'm not trying to be arguementative here, seriously, I'm just curious, where did you hear her say that? I don't remember her saying that in either of the documentaries I watched, and I take the movie with a grain of salt.

ah go eat beep you stupid beep would she lie about a man begging for his life? it all boils down to whether you believe her or not, i believe that she did tell the truth. i also believe that something pushed her over the edge and it was not her entire fault that she became a murderer. don't you dare talk like you are better than me
your post is meaningless anyway, you seem to beb68 trying to pss me off o sling your hook you worthless sht

One of my best friends is Richard Mallory's niece and we knew him. He was NOT what Aileen portrayed him to be. Did you know he suffered 10-20 minutes before he died? Aileen deserved what she got but she also deserved more pain for what she made others go through. I hope she rots in hell for eternity.

But wasn't Richard Mallory in prison before he died for violent sexual assault or rape? Obviously he did not deserve to die and neither did aileen, an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. he suffered for 10-20 mins? She suffered her whole life! i am not a do-gooder infact i used to be in favour of the death penalty but it is an easy, vindictive costly punishment. the people who execute someone are bringing hemselves down to the same level
aileen wuornos was a bad person but i honestly believe she never knew any better. she does not deserve to rot in hell, she deserves our pity

im with dgunning
she said it was self defence. i dont know whether to believe her, i dont think her herself knew what happened by the end of it.
the death penatly is wrong, no questions
she should have been forced to5b4 live in prision for the remainder of her life, with help, so that she couls realise what she has done with wrong.
this woman had mental health issues
she needed help. not to be murdered
